meemawvic got a reaction from katie09/21/2016 in What Are Some Things You Can't Wait for POST OP?
I'm ready to chew some food again! Seems like I've been on liquids forever! I am ready to wear bright colors and smaller sizes. To sit in a restaurant booth and have room and to not have little kids stare at me.

meemawvic got a reaction from Eeb in New here , 10 weeks post op sleever, I would like to know how others are doing.
I'm 4 weeks out and struggling to get in my Protein. I haven't tried enough of the different brands and have introduced solid foods too soon. So, the nutritionist is helping me to regroup. Mim on 500 cal. A day- protein and vegs only. I had my sleeve on Nov. 12 and have lost 10 lbs. since. Dr. And Nutritionist say it should be more. I'm going this weekend to get some unflavored protein and see if that helps and order some samples of others. I can't eat very much at one time so I know I've got to get the protein in liquid form. Suggestions and encouragement please!

That's great! The only thing I've had problems with was a piece of lean pork I cooked that was too dry. That didnt go well. I never thought I could be so disciplined but I follow my nutritionists diet pretty much to the letter. I'm down 70lbs. As of yesterday. It has really helped that my wife started to follow the diet once I went on solid foods. Do you find it hard to get all your Water in?

Oh my gosh these hit the nail on the head for me-every single one. I'll add:
Wearing a one piece bathing suit with no skirt and looking good!

I'm 9 weeks out and feel full after a few bites of anything. Which works out great since I've lost 49 pounds since Sept 15th :-) but if I eat one or two bites too much I get a horrible stabbing pain from my tummy up to my shoulder, kind of like the gas pain after surgery. I think everyone is different but your body will acclimate soon. Keep up the good work!

I am almost 2 weeks post op and I am also still trying to learn my body's signals. From what I have read and understand, the nerves in our stomachs are also traumatized from surgery and aren't reliable yet. Your best bet is to only eat the amounts your surgeons office says to ( ie 1/8 cup) until you learn your body and your body becomes reliable. It is a learning process. Congrats on your surgery and keep up the good work!

I have days where I am a disaster. Just the other week I had a whole week of being well under my MyFitnessPal goals and then I blew it on Sunday and had like 1700 calories in Cookies and other junk. There are still days where I tend to eat Cookies or crackers, but the thing that helps me is recording absolutely everything in MyFitnessPal. For example, today I had a cake pop from Starbucks, a petite four, and a handful of nutterbutters, however with everything else I had for the day I'm still only at 950 calories, so when I slip up, I don't freak out when I can see the calories in my app. If I gain a pound one day, I just pay a lot of attention to what I eat the next day and invariably drop right back down by the next morning. The trick is to weigh yourself everyday because it keeps you accountable and to log everything you eat, also because it keeps you accountable. Life is no fun without cookies and chips, but making the sleeve work for you is about knowing that it's ok to have a few cookies one day or even maybe one or two everyday if you really want to, but making sure that your calories are within where they are supposed to be, that you're working out, and that the majority of days you're eating mostly healthy. I had no interest in living the rest of my life eating chicken and vegetables, so I don't eat that most days. I eat like a normal person, which compared to how I used to eat is about 2000 calories less a day!
Good luck...you can get back on track.

Today's post is going to be EASY! Everyone should be able to do this one! Pick your partner, husband, wife, children, best friend or whoever is the closest to you and say what about them you are so thankful for! Of course you know why you are thankful for them, but writing it out will make you feel even closer to them
I am SO thankful for my husband because he is my very best friend. He supports me unconditionally, and walks beside me through every decision I have to make. He encourages me to reach for my dreams and backs me up without fail. He is my partner, my companion, and my lover. I love you, Bobby!
