Yes! And I loved it! Though, ultimately, I will decide when I've lost enough - I thought it was a lovely compliment. ????

@@Elode - I bought the Yonana last night based on your recommendation in the gadgets thread! You should be getting a commission! Haha! I LOVE ice cream, so I'm hoping that this will give me a little bit of a "fix" if I ever get a craving. (I'm only seven weeks out, so I don't have many cravings.) Thanks for the great tip - I can't wait to try it!

I took two and a half weeks. I was glad to get back to work, but my mistake was going back full-time at full speed ahead right when I got back. The first month was exhausting for me. I'd recommend at least three weeks. But everyone is different..

Broiled cod with a tablespoon of mashed potatoes. It was amazing. Once I started eating solid foods, I felt normal again. It's a great feeling.

Thank you for starting this thread. I'm getting nauseous fairly regularly now. It's a bummer. Sometimes I feel nauseous because of what I ate and sometimes I feel nauseous because I haven't eaten. Trying to look for patterns, but not really finding them. I have my six week post-op appointment so I will talk to my doctor.

What I do to keep my head in the game (and away from freaking out) is remembering that this is a marathon, not a sprint. My weight loss "stalled" for about ten days.. No worries! I was still twenty pounds lighter than I was. I just decided to not worry. And eventually the weight loss resumed. My "no freaking out" policy is really helping me. ????

My biggest fear is failing. I'm only three weeks out and I am doing really, really well.. But what about a year or two or three from now.. Will I, for once in my life, be able to maintain my weight loss? That is my biggest fear..

Yes, Minnie! I didn't expect to be this hungry either! And it's not head hunger because it's coming from my stomach! ???? I had a scrambled egg this morning and it was divine! The one egg filled me up! So cool! It feels amazing to have a new set of foods added to the menu. I feel so much more satiated and so much less deprived. Who knew that an egg would ever be this exciting?! I feel like I'm more of a normal person again now. Only two more days for you, Minnie!

Fabulous, thesuse! You look amazing! Congratulations!

Not even my highist weight on the left on the right 3.5 months post-op.
Cute red dress, curvy! You look fabulous!

Mariah - your weight loss really shows! I'm so glad to hear that you are counting inches, too! It can really help during the stalls. You look fantastic!

Had my second post op appointment today and it went great. My weight when I started was 320 my weight today at the doctor office was 243. I'm so happy. My dr his intern and there nurse were all so excited and happy with my progress. For those that remeber i almost backed out of the surgery and my dr said aren't you glad you went through with it. I can honestly say that I think doing this surgery was the best thing I ever decided to do.
Avhick.. You are rockin it!! I remember how nervous you were - and look at you now! I'm so excited for you!
I'm down 19 pounds and am heading back to work on Monday. I just went through my closet to work on what I might wear for next week. My current clothes - especially pants - are already too big to keep wearing. Luckily I have several pairs of pants that I "outgrew" over the past few years that I can now fit back into. That should cover me for a while. It's crazy how quickly our bodies change...
On Sunday I get to start my puréed stage! Before surgery I didn't understand why people were so excited about that.. But I sure understand now! Three more "sleeps" and then I get some more real-ish food!
Hope everyone is well! Keep us posted! ????

Amazeballs! Congratulations!

I left out a really awesome kitchen tool knows as the Anova Sous Vide Immersion Circulator. I find Sous Vide cooking to be perfect for Bariatric patients since it softens the food and keeps it very moist and tasty.
Yes! I was going to suggest that you include a sous vide circulator on this list! I bought mine pre-op so I could practice and it makes the most juicy and delicious chicken and fabulous scrambled eggs! I'm really looking forward to being able to eat those again soon - mostly because I have a tool that I know can help them taste great.

Dr. Iqbal did my surgery on 2/10. I met with Dr. Ali at a pre-op appointment because Dr. Iqbal was still in surgery. He seemed like a confident surgeon. I met Dr. Laporte in the hospital after my surgery - he is really nice. Can you get a later date with Dr. Laporte or is he just not taking patients anymore?
-
I'm hungry! ???? One more week until I can have puréed foods! ????
-
Two nights at the hospital. I was still in a lot of pain by the second day and wasn't ready to drink anything until the third day.
-
Thank you for sharing that menu! It makes me feel more confident about going out to eat one day. ????
-
I am with you. I had surgery 2/10 and I'm so hungry. I'm sick of these Protein Shakes and would kill for a scrambled egg or cottage cheese!
Oh my gosh! I'm so with you! Same surgery date, too! Scrambled eggs never sounded so good! I'm also fantasizing about chicken! Never thought that would happen! ????
-
Maybe it was because I was allowed full liquids but I would get full even in my full liquid phase.
Hi BLEDgirl! I'm on full liquids. Surprisingly, I'm getting more of a full feeling the further I am along. I think what I'm missing is being satiated. Does that eventually start to happen?

Onward!! You're are in the one hundreds!! Get down with your bad self!
Avhick - you are blowing right through the pounds! Way to go!
You two must feel light as feathers!! I'm so amazed by you! Keep these reports coming - it's so good to hear from you!
I'm down 17 pounds, which feels amazing. I was down seven pre-op and ten since surgery. It's quite extraordinary.
I'm already looking forward to eating some real food. I was sure I would be stronger than to complain, but, man, the Protein Shakes and strained Soup are just getting so tiresome. I've tried to tell myself that it's not about enjoyment.. It's about healing. So, I'm bucking up and braving it out. Still.. Really looking forward to four and a half weeks from now when I can have some chicken! Lol!
Keep up the great work, team!

Wow! You look great @@Avhick! You must feel fantastic!
I'm doing great! Man, those first six to seven weeks were tough! I feel like I'm cruising now! Eating regular food - just much less of it. Still no Pasta or rice. I might try those once I'm closer to my goal. I've lost 32 pounds so far. I feel a million times better! I'm bringing sexy back! Haha!
28 more pounds until my goal weight. It will take time and hard work - and I'm going to make it happen!
