THE MAGIC WORDS: "YOU'VE BEEN APPROVED!"

Could *not* wait to share the news with you! (Got so excited I could hardly type!)
  3. blissfulbeing

I cant stop thinkng about it.

I don't really know exactly what they want, so I can't tell you. All I know is that I was just under a bmi of 40 and was denied due to that. I'm still waiting for an approval. Hang in there and just keep working through the process. I hope it all works out for you!
  4. Cdenney123 - you are making my day with all this good info! THANK YOU SO MUCH! One last question..(I hope).. What did you do for the pre-op diet?
  5. By the way, 40 pounds in just two months! That is incredible! Congratulations on all of your hard work!
  6. Well, glad to hear you liked it - that is great news! Did you have to have a drain? It seems like some surgeons use them and some don't. Also, did you get your leak test during surgery or while you were in recovery? (Hope you don't mind all the questions.. I'm excited and nervous.)
  7. One more question: was your surgery at Orange Coast where his office is? I had my nutrition classes at a hospital relatively near there, but it didn't seem as nice.
  8. Oh man, that is SO GREAT to hear! Thank you for letting me know. Do you have any fun stats to share regarding your progress?
  9. Hi OC Sleevers! I'm hoping to get sleeved by Dr. Iqbal in January. Just waiting for approval from insurance. How was your experience with him, the surgery center, and hospital?

I cant stop thinkng about it.

I am cracking up about your posts! It's hilarious and a relief to find others just as focused on our goal of getting surgery. Downsizingdiva - congrats! Keep us posted! Laurenella - keep up the good work! Heav85 - I first got denied because I was just under a bmi of 40 after the supervised diet. ???? I'm back above 40 now, so hopefully I get approved. By the way, hang in there. I'm sure you will find what works for you, but from all I've read about the surgery, it sounds very important to be able to carve out some serious "you" time in order to be ready for the surgery. Maybe waiting until March isn't such a bad idea. Now that I've gone through this much of the process, I'm actually glad I had to wait so I could plan and process. I can't believe I'm saying that, but it's true. WannaB - your post made me LAUGH! Buttercup - you are so right about the "wait time" being a good thing! It's been frustrating, but I really think I needed it. Now I'm REALLY ready! Best of luck to all of you - I hope you get everything you wish for!

I cant stop thinkng about it.

I am right there with you all! It's all I seem to think about. I think that friends are tired of hearing about it. I decided I wanted to get WLS back in March and have been working through the process ever since (6 mo. supervised diet, etc.). I was denied with the first submission and just resubmitted. Praying, hoping, wishing, and dreaming with all my heart that I get approved this time so that I can move forward. I LOVE reading the posts on this site - especially all of the success stories! I keep imaging what my life will be like after I lose weight and actually keep it off. The implications of that are almost hard to imagine since it's been a losing battle for over 30 years.
  12. I made my first call to the surgeon in March and had to wait until April for my appointment. My BMI was a tiny smidge under 40. I did the nutrition classes, seminars, psych evaluation, and a 6-month supervised diet. I also had a sleep study done and found out that I have mild sleep apnea. My BMI got down to the high 38's during my supervised diet. My surgeon's office turned in all of the paperwork.. And I was denied. A little over a month later, my BMI is just above 40. Now they are submitting the paperwork again... I have my hopes up high after reading all of the posts on this amazing site.. And having my hopes up high scares me. I pray that I am approved. I cannot live like this any longer. I feel like I am living a kind of half life, where I am not fully living. I've been so touched by each of your stories - your incredible optimism, support for others, vulnerability, hard work, honesty, and dedication. I think I just want to ask for you to please cheer me on and support me as I work through this process. I am scared of being denied again. Support, good thoughts, and encouragement would be so welcome, sleevers. Thank you!

    Calling January Sleever????

Yay for you awesome January "sleevers!" It's seems like such a monumental phase for all of you! ???? I Hope it all goes beautifully! I have very good feelings about good things happening in January.. I just hope I get approved so that I can join the January Wonder-Sleevers! ????
  15. I hope I will be as lucky! Have you had your surgery yet? If so, how is it going?
  16. Thank you so much, Athena. I'm trying to hang in there. I know I can get through this, but the stress of another possible denial is really tough. It's been eight months of working and waiting. It's good to know that others, like you, have been there and that it all worked out eventually. I'm taking deep breaths and thinking good thoughts. I'm looking forward to being nervous about the surgery rather than the approval process.
  17. Thanks for the update! I hope your recovery goes nice and smoothly!
