    Let’s talk diarrhea.......

Thanks James, that is encouraging to hear!
  2. For everyone who has had a MGB or RNY, what can I expect as far as diarrhea? I’m sure everyone’s experience has been different. I will be having my sleeve revised to a MGB on 8/1 and really the diarrhea issue I’ve heard about post op is what has me worried! I understand it happens initially post-op....... but is it a forever thing?? Every time you eat you have to run to the bathroom? How does it affect your work life daily? Going out to dinner or to a special event? In my mind this diarrhea is going to be a full time job. Lol. Any thoughts to share?

    April/May sleevers!

Some doctor's will not take out your gallbladder if you haven't had any problems prior. But I asked my surgeon to remove mine because I didn't want to have to have a second surgery a few months down the line if my GB went bad. Some people are just fine and never have any GB issues but most WLS patients end up having to have theirs removed at some point. Rapid weight loss causes gallstones to form and that makes the GB angry. I did lots of research and did not make my decision to have a perfectly good organ removed without months of consideration. I didn't think that my recovery was any harder than anyone else's despite having the sleeve and GB removed. I actually did alot better than most of the ladies that had surgery the same day as me. I had an amazing time in mexico and would go back to do it all over again in a heartbeat. I had a wonderful experience. 3.5 weeks post-op and down 31lbs. Can't complain about that!! lol

    April/May sleevers!

I'll let you know how everything goes Amy. I'm not letting what people say bother me. I'm sure I'll be nervous when I get there but I know several people that have gone to TJ for the sleeve at the same hospital and have done amazing.

    April/May sleevers!

Hi everyone! I'm Michelle and I am 30 years old. I'm from Orlando, FL. My sleeve is my 30th bday present to myself. I want to be healthy and more active (and skinny but I feel kind of bad admitting that! lol). I have been an ER RN for 10 years and of course I'm getting alot of grief from my co-workers about having surgery in Mexico. But I'm not letting that bother me! Surgery date: 4/10/15 Surgeon: Elias Ortiz Hospital: Mi Doctor in TJ Ht: 5' 6.5" HW 262 CW 255 GW 160ish I start my 2 week pre-op diet next Friday and I'm kind of excited but dreading that part!! I'm having my gallbladder removed when I have my sleeve as well.
