Hi all well I am in my hospital room I have a drain in but should get taken out before I go home. I I'm having quite a bit of pain but they are doing thei r best to control it. Dr. Found a hiatal hernia which the doctor repaired also was adhesions but all went well. my oxygen has been dipping down. I am very sleepy but wanted to give everyone a heads up. I DID IT.

Got approval from my insurance and surgeons office called to schedule. Surgery date is March 23rd. Sooooo excited. When I first started this journey it seemed like the day would never get here now I'm just 5 weeks away and couldn't be happier. Thank you all for your posts and continued support!!

Add me to the February list..27 th! After beginning this process in May it's hard to believe it is finally coming to fruition.

On the way to hospital today is surgery day for me wishing all the best for everyone having surgery this week God Bless !

Just got home from the hospital. The nausea was terrible yesterday and this morning but the pain isn't too bad. So happy to be home.

Finally the day is here! I have to be at the hospital in 45 minutes (6:15) and surgery is at 8:30. Didn't get much sleep last night so hopefully they'll knock me out tonight.

Glad to hear your going home GAWildKat. Hope everyone else who is postop is healing well.
I had my EGD today. If all comes back OK with that, surgery is a go for the 10th!!
Lucky, you are lucky to only have a one day liquid diet! I'm on day 8 and it's been a $&@&@! It does get easier, but it's no fun. It has taught me that my body can survive on Protein Shakes, sf Jello, and water! I also now know that my willpower is alive and well. I've lost approx. 10+ lbs.

Today is my last day on the pre-open Protein diet. Tomorrow I drink the bottle of mag citrate and can have only Clear Liquids and Friday is my surgery. I won't know what time it will be until late tomorrow afternoon.

Approved!!!!!! I'm approved!!!!
For those that have been previously denied, hang in there. If you're denied, make a choice to live as healthy of a life as you can until you can find a way to get approved!!!!
So happy! (And now getting scared! Lol)

I'm back! Just an update-- i appealed and as I suspected, I was denied my appeal despite a very convincing, well written letter.
I did my best to readjust my attitude about the situation. I used it as a life learning experience. I knew in my heart this wasn't over, so I was going to apply what I learned to my life and channel my disappointment into eating better and starting a workout program.
And... Great news! I changed insurance starting January 1st and this coverage allows bariatric surgery!! Since I already finished the approval process with my surgeon, all the have to do is resubmit my paperwork. They either did it this last week or hopefully this upcoming week. I should know soon. I'm hopeful that I'll be on the losers bench in about 30 days or so!

PS--- holy smokes, it's February!!!!! It's our month! Next month we will all be on the losers bench!!!!

Another thing Dr. Oz says is that Garcinia Cambogia is the "Holy Grail" of weight loss and that it will give you "QUICK and EFFECTIVE results WITHOUT diet and exercise, garcinia cambogia extract will absolutely help you achieve the body you've always wanted!" So why did any of us bother to have WLS?!
His other weight loss recommendation is taking HCG drops and eating under 500 calories/day. Seriously, he's a f**king quack getting paid to endorse fad supplements from the highest bidder.

Hi! Today I hit "Onderland!" I weigh 199.6! I'm so happy. I'm there by a mere .4, but I'm there! I almost cried. So happy I had this surgery.

Hi all. I have'nt been her for a while. Time has just flown. Had my surgery, and everything went well. No pain, no complication. I had no problems afterwards either. Some pain if i eat to fast, but thats the only thing. I was in for my three month check up, and I have lost 36 kg since my first weigh in at the surgeon.
I have gone down two sizes in shirts , and gone from 42 inch to 38 inch in jeans. I'm starting at the gym again, and are of to work out in about an hour

You are making the right step to a healthier you! My step daughter lives in Norway in Kristiansund ! I bet you know where that is since it's on the western coast. I have not been there but will like to do some day. My husband has been there many years ago visiting his daughter.
I have not had the surgery yet but will soon. Trying to decide a gastric bypass or the sleeve.
