  1. I feel like I've been stuck going in the wrong direction, but I keep reminding myself of all I've lost and how much better I feel now vs. a year ago. I'd like to blame this on a stall, but in reality it's my eating habits over the last couple of weeks. Earlier this month my surgeon told me he was happy with my weight at 158 and I think it went to my head. Now I've been stuck at 155 and I've lost my motivation. I still make sure I get 75-80 grams of protein each day, but all my evening snacks have been "sliders". I'm going back to the gym today so I can "kick start" my head!

Sounds like you're headed back in the right direction. Wonderful!! Stay the course!!! Focus on all the positive aspects of your weight loss - better health, smaller size clothing, more energy, etc. - you get the idea. Keep on keeping on!

  2. First day at the gym. 45 minutes of cardio and 15 minutes of weights for the arms, abs and legs. Feels great and hopefully the scale will start moving a little faster now. 34.6 lbs the first 6 weeks post then 7.2 lbs the 2nd six weeks post op. I've lost 2.7 the last two weeks, but I'm definitely past the honeymoon phase.

  3. I had to buy a black dress for a funeral and to my great surprise and extreme pleasure, I bought a Tahari dress SIZE 12! I was a size 18 twelve weeks ago on the day of surgery. I feel so good today! 43 lbs lost.........who would have ever guessed.

  4. mae7365 I went to my first post op bariatric support group last night and found my surgery sole mate. We had surgery one day apart, 4 weeks ago tomorrow. I was happy to hear that I am not alone with my less than perfect post op recovery. I spent two days hospitalized last week for severe nause, vomiting, dehydration and dangerously low potassium levels. I'm still struggling with food and vomiting, but at least I know what to look for to make sure I don't get that sick again. The dietician assured me I'd feel much better by next months meeting. I look forward to it since I've felt pretty crappy the past couple weeks. I guess I wasn't prepared for the learning curve associated with eating following surgery.
