  1. Thank you Georgia Girl for the welcome. I had a couple of questions... How long after your surgery did the Dr tell you it was okay to get back into exercising? I am taking a Water aerobics class at my local YMCA and I love it. The best classes I have ever taken. They vary the classes so that it works everything which is so awesome and they have classes year round... woo hoo ! I am eager to get back into it after my surgery but don't want to do it to soon. Have a great day!
  2. Thanks for the info Dave. My boyfriend says he doesn't understand where I get all my energy. I work 10 hour days, come home, clean the kitchen, do laundry and then cook dinner and he just wows at me... he says he wants to bottle my energy. I on the other hand am looking forward to having more energy. I don't see my daily routine as being that energetic... odd how other see you I guess. I myself would love some more though. I know getting back to the classes and hopefully taking on some more exercise will get me to that Energizer Bunny stage... then he won't be able to keep up for sure !!! and he's an inshape guy. GO Figure ! Oh by the way. I am 30... is that the age of your wife? Have a great day !
  3. YOU GO GIRL !!! Congrats... What you said really has me thinking about the little things, quirky things that I have a hard time doing.... I can't wait to paint my toe nails without corting myself into a dozen different positions. whoa... what a goal that one is Have a splended day !
  4. Thank you so much Mary (mmcbelle) for the feedback. I am loving my water aerobics class and would love to get right back into it as soon as I am up to it and able. Definitely praying for a fast recovery !! Thanks for the warm welcome !!
  5. Hello EVERYONE ! I am yet another NEWBIE. I started my journey in June at AIGB in Richardson, Tx. I went through all the steps and tests necessary and there there was a mix up with my insurance. The original Dr I had selected, come to find out did not take my insurance... wish I would of know that ahead of time, could of saved me several months... but got it all worked out and a new Dr selected the end of October. I rec'd my approval from my insuran not even a week later....... wow that was FAST !!! :clap2:I started my pre-op diet last Wed 11/7 and my surgery is scheduled 11/29... I can't believe how fast it all came together once all the kinks were ironed out. I am very pleased with that !! I am doing my Protein shakes and it has been quite interesting to say the least. I was not sure how things were going to go especially while at work, being in a work environment where people are always bringing in donuts and sweets for everyone to snack on. But I managed to ignore the donuts that were brought in 2 days last week. I am trying a variety of recipes for the shakes so that they do not get to boring. Had a great one this morning for Breakfast, strawberry Cheesecake... yum! :hungry: My surgery will be done by Dr. Frank Felts in Richardson. I have my pre-op visit on the 26th... It just can't come soon enough. I feel like I have been thinking about this and walking through the steps forever, not quite, just seems so. My latest challenge is learning how to cook in a healthier manner, so I am definitely up for new tasty ideas. I am looking forward to learning from you all and sharing my updates as they come along. Thanks in advance to all of you. McQty Lewisville, Tx
  6. I know what you mean Jess... I am one that needs and wants to lose about 200 as well. I am a pretty positive person most of the time, so I am sticking with that and telling myself that I can and will get it done. I recently started taking water aerobics classes at the local YMCA that does them year round... that's so awesome. I love to swim and these are just right for me. It's the funnest way I can find to get my exercising in. They also vary up the classes from shallow water one day and deep water the next so they are sure to work it all. I am wondering, and if anyone knows, please advise... how long after your surgery did your dr say it was okay to do exercise like aerobics?
