You go through the drive through at Sonic and when asked "Do you want the foot long or regular size?" you immediately come to the rationalization that there is NO WAY you can finish the foot long! Merry Christmas Ya All and God Bless!!!!
  9. I wear a shirt and tie to work everyday. One of my coworkers met me for lunch today and he said "Damn man you look like you raided your dad's closet. The shirt is too big for you now." I got back from lunch and a lady that I work with said "You have been taking the assaway pills, it looks like you got no butt in your pants." Ok I must admit I have never been accused of being light in the seat. Both together made me laugh today! 6 weeks post op today/46lbs so far

  20. What a bummer house smelled amazing and I felt sick to my stomach all day. Could't really figure out why until I realized I had forgotten to take my ppi meds the last 2-3 days. UGH!!! Took meds around lunch time and was able to get a little turkey down then dumped (2nd time in a month). Today was NOT a fun day. Not enough Protein, Water, anything. Felt terrible. Worst day since surgery. Oh well, suck it up and start a new day tomorrow!

    Quick and Easy Crab Cakes

Ok folks made this for dinner tonight and the non bypass side of the family inhaled them!!!! Very very easy for me to eat tonight as well. I have included ballpark nutritional information I added up after the fact. Start to finish took about 5-10 minutes!!! Quick Crab Cakes (Makes 4 servings) 1 can of crab meat in water 4oz 3/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs 1/2 cup of finely minced onion 2 Tablespoons of Green Onion Minced 1 egg 1/2 tsp of Seasoning Salt 1/2 tsp of Garlic Powder 1 tsp of black pepper(little less if you don't want them spicy) 2 Tablespoons of Butter (held) Open can of crab meat and drain water, food process onion together to fine mince and drain water. In a medium bowl combine all ingredients (EXCEPT BUTTER). Form into 4 patties. Melt butter in frying pan and place patties in pan over medium to medium high heat. Fry on each side about 3-5 minutes until desired color. (I did mine on the softer side for obvious reasons, and made the rest for the family a little crispier) Approximate nutrition information per serving: (I only counted have of the butter in nutrition information as there was about half of butter left in pan.) Calories 155 Cal from fat 50 Fat 6g Sat Fat 2g Cholesterol 85mg Sodium 725mg Carbs 17g Protein 9.5 g Talk about a nice break from protein shakes, and pureed stuff! This is my recipe I developed tonight on the fly. I was quite impressed with myself if I do say so. Scott
  22. I am 5 days post op doing very well on fluids and protein shakes, but I want some thing real! I'd like something a cracker, a little bit of canned chicken, etc. something beyond water, broth and protein shakes! What would ya'all do?

    Quick and Easy Crab Cakes

I think you could take the bread crumbs down a 1/4 cup maybe, but I don't think they would have stayed together and I think the consistency would not have been right. I am not trying to make real food into diet food, but rather diet food that is no different than real food. That means flavor, consistency, no aftertaste, etc. It is easy to make diet food, but VERY difficult to make diet food taste 100% normal.
