Does anyone else have the restaurant card?
- Is this a normal sensation?
I'm not sure if it is the same with lap-band surgery but when I had orthroscopic surgery on my knee they hit some surface nerves. I still have a referred sensation when I touch certain places around the incision sites. Not really a big deal. You'll get used to it.- Anyone else have this experience?
Saw the Dr today. Looks like I have a cyst on an ovary. She wants to do a sonagram and have a look. Shouldn't effect my getting banded. Just a bit of discomfort and wait and see. Weird how it turned up now.- 2.26.08: food is my drug...
I think if you eat fewer than 900 cals a day your body goes into starvation mode. You don't lose weight and you body starts taking from your muscles and bones. Not sure what you're doing is healthy but good luck to you. Don't forget to take your vitamins.- unsuccessful lapband results
I bet you take care of everyone else before you take care of yourself. I bet you have a beautiful garden that blooms to the delight of all your neighbors. In the airport you're the person with the big smile that chats with folks in the long security line and makes the wait more tolerable. It's time to think about yourself, first. Go see the Doc. Or better yet get a new one and make a fresh start. Visit this site often and create a support group that cares for you and wants to help you succeed. I don't know you, yet. But feel free to contact me. Im to be banded next week. You were such a success Im sure you have tips to help the newbies. Share your passion and sensitivity. :biggrin2:- Some NSVs to share :)
 You are living the dream!!!!- Anyone else have this experience?
Im seeing my reg Dr today for her to sign off on the surgery. I'm going to mention it to her. I took the gas-x last night and the lactaid this morning with what is now my breakfast. Still have discomfort. Maybe it's getting me ready for the discomfort of the surgery.- March 4 - LP Day
A week from tomorrow. A year from today we will be patting ourselves on the back (literally 'cause we will be able to reach it!) because we know we made a good choice!!- Triple threats!
How about Triple threats? March is the third month. Band, diet, exercise. How about it? Sorry I don't know how to make those cute sparkle-y things with pictures.- skinny

yogurt, meal replacement drink, soup(non-creamy), ff pudding, sf jello and lots of water.- Flying 1/mo post op
people fly home from Mexico days after their surgery. I can't see that you will have a problem. Happy flying you lucky bum- Florida warm, NY cold!- Anyone else have this experience?
I'm a few days into the pre-op diet and am having a bloated maybe gassy feeling (nothing productive) that is uncomfortable. I thought maybe I was getting a bladder infection because the discomfort is that low but I can pee fine and it is very pale and clear. I'm varying my meals so as not to have too much dairy but maybe I'm getting sensitive to lactose. I going to give Lactaid a shot tomorrow. Any thoughts?- I'm Back!
Welcome back I was reading on a blog about this site Surgical Weight Loss 5 Day Pouch Test. It is about getting in touch with your stomach again and learning about that full feeling. Maybe it is worth a read? Good luck.- Surgery is tomorrow. HELP!!!
this time next week I will be just as nervous. I'm planning on relaxing. I wish I could take a bath but I don't really fit in the tub that will. But a long shower and a glass of wine. It's a clear liquid right? Set your home up so it is ready to receive you when you get home from the hospital. Change the sheets to a nice soft flannel. Hunt down all the comfy sweats you have. Dig out the heating pad and a few books and put them in a basket next to the bed. Maybe even order yourself some flowers to arrive the day you get home as a gift to yourself for the wonderful tool you are about to receive. Breath. Best wishes and warm hugs.- wonderful
I can hardly wait to be in your shoes (or the pants in my attic)- Getting banded on March 3!!!
I'm to be banded on March 4 so I'm doing the preop diet too. I found if I remember to eat at regular intervals(six times a day) and drink alot between I'm not as nearly hungry. I'm having trouble with gas pains. I think it is from all the dairy. I'm going to try lactaid tomorrow. Good luck.- Stepping Forward
Isn't this a great site? I remember when I found it and sighed with relief that there are so many wonderful people willing to share their stories. I hope you find your answers and friends as easily as I have. Welcome:thumbup:- On day 5 of pre-op diet just a couple of???
LOL better than a bed pan.- Changes.....
Way to take control! Go girl!!- Garth Davis...
WHo is your Dr?- LI Surgeons-Drs. Geiss & Powers
I'm to be banded by Dr Powers on March 4. I really liked his quiet way. The office is all the same either way. Good Luck.- So apparently I am an Inspiration...or at least that is what I have been told
