I've been thinking alot about goals lately. I'm not a goal driven person, I do tasks. I see something that needs doing and do it. I'm more of an intuitive person, it either feels right so I do it or wrong and I stay away. I don't know what it is about writing out goals but I just seem to stall out. I look forward and see some things I would like different but can't seem to set a plan for it. Maybe that is the thing that needs to be different with the band. Goals. So why can't I set a few goals? I don't like to fail. Ok so set some easy goals. *start the day with 30min on treadmill. *work with trainer weekly. Be on time and ready to workout. *log all food weekly. Be truthful. Do I want to set a weight goal? *lose 2 lbs this week. Will see about next week. Longer term goal? *200lbs by my wedding anniversary. Thats 1.6lbs a week. What will I do to achieve these goals? **I paid the trainer up front for the whole year. Big $$ so that's something. **I need to recruit some friends to give me a call to get my mojo going in the morning. **I will post my anniversary goal on my mirror with a wedding photo(last time I was 200lbs). I think this is a good start. Comments are always welcome. Thanks!

Getting the band isn't going to make you love yourself. Rejoice in the fact that you have a wonderful man. You have put your life on hold for too long. Weddings are more then the dress. If something came up and you couldn't get the band are you not going to get married? Im so sorry you are having body image issues. Maybe you can set a date of one year post band. Thats a great incentive to stay on track with the band. P.S. on another post you said you wanted a tattoo before banding- remember after you lose weight your skin will have moved and the tattoo will move too.

Ah geess you never want to hear a thing like this. Im so sorry you had to go through that. I've not had anything like you went through. I did have a heavy, hard plastic box fall on the port area and that hurt for dayssssss. I hope you're better and back on track soon. Hugs

Christine- I really hope you're enjoying the party right now but if not dont just dump the cake. Take it to your local firehouse. Those guys&gals enjoy a sweet treat and can burn the calories just looking at it. Just a thought. opps we posted at the same time. Why are you moving?

There are alot of threads about the wait for the "perfect fill" How did it go with the DR? Did you have over 3cc in the band? Maybe you need more. I know you don't want to hear this but just because you CAN eat 2-3 slices of pizza doesn't mean you should. Some of this is on you. That being said the hysterectomy might have something to do with all this. Hormones (or lack of) do weird things to our body. Stick too it. Kick up the exercise or try something totally different. Hot yoga? Interval training? Good luck.

You didn't say what kinds of foods you like. As to protein drinks you just have to find one that you like the taste of. Walmart has the Fortress brand that is good. I prefer Unjury(google unjury) comes in strawberry(tastes like jello) chocolate, Vanilla and unflavored (which you can put into anything) Look for high protein(18+) and low/no fat. GNC has alot of protein "shots" . Get your protein in first. Also check out the food and nutrition boards search for the foods you like or protein drinks. Good luck!! -
Man Christine that sucks about the kids. But you seem to be staying on plan, so WAY TO GO!! JDUB0414- good results with the Bugg. Success on the bra front so the treadmill shouldn't be as pounding.

Don't look at it as an all or nothing thing. Just do 5 minutes. After a few days you will be doing more just because it feel more comfortable to do it longer. Play a game with yourself. You cant do something you LOVE until you do the 5 minutes. Put notes on the mirror asking if you did your 5 minutes. If you have a friend who will help ask them to give you a call every day to ask the same question. Good luck!!

Well looking at the weight load- It might be a while before I can try one of these.

Anyone think it might be because you have less insulation(fat) to keep you warm?
-
if you can't go to the gym for a while make sure to get a letter from your Dr to suspend your membership. that way you're not paying for time you are no using. Good luck!!

Ok since I can't motivate myself to exercise regularly I've got a trainer. I had my first appointment Friday. I am one sore puppy. But good sore if there is one. I'm with Fenton on the erosion of motivation thing. In the past I just slack off and the next thing I know I haven't moved with a purpose/exercised in months. Time will tell. Sometimes veteran banders talk about a "soft stop". It's a sense or physical feeling that tells them to stop eating. I think for some hiccups is a soft stop. Harley the tattoo is great. I love the compass rose. Is it on your arm or leg? What were you rewarding for? When I hit 200 Im getting the shamrock over my port. I off to go buy a new sports bra. So if you don't hear from me in a couple of days it's because I'm crumpled on the floor of the changing room tied in knots of spandex. Fenton you are soooo lucky you don't have to deal with bras:cursing:

Today my husband surprised me with a trip to Bermuda. He said that he is so proud of what Im doing that he wants to reward me for all my hard work. I think it is wonderful because it is four months away and I will be needing a boost by then, and new clothes. What he doesn't know is that all my summer stuff isn't going to fit and I will be needing to shop for stuff to wear. Woo Hoo. Win Win. (edited 4/8) After thinking about the trip some more,(not that I want to be negative but) it's kind of sneaky, it sounds more like a motivator then a reward. I mean now I really HAVE to stick with this and meet or exceed my goals. He knows I want to look good on those pink sand beaches.

You can get rid of those black adhesive marks with 'liquid bandage' Just smear some on and it rubs off really easy.

I finely emptied the camera of the pics b4 and after surgery. This is the pic of me b4 surgery with the smiley and the shamrock on my belly for the surgeon to find. He said everyone in the surgery suite got a good laugh. He put the port under the smiley. Regarding the verdict: I hope things aren't too bad when it is announced. I'm surprised that more folks aren't shot with the amount of them "pointing things" at cops. Christine why do you even have the Cookies in the house? Lesson learned:don't bring the tempting stuff within distance of temptation. That said tomorrow is another day. Happy New Minute!! Fenton my sister came out to be with me around band time and not once did I try to convince her to try the band(she is bigger then me). Folks have to come to this decision on their own and no amount of harping from us will get them there. The best thing you can do is be a good band roll model. Kerri thats what we are here for- vent away. then LET IT GO! Focus your energy on yourself. As always someone will be out there to suck it away from you. :crying: Step out of range and continue. You're doing GREAT!!! Welcome Crystal!!

Here are my scars one week out and 7 weeks out. I don't see much difference. The smiley is what I drew on my tummy for the surgeon to find. The shamrock is because I am a Shrinking Shamrock banded in March. I had very little bruising. I did use Arnica Montana. headstandconsulting-2.WlsBoardMobile.apk here are the main ones close up with a ruler to show scale.(pic is upside down, oops)

If you have never had surgery before try to ask other close family members if they have had issues with anesthesia. As this might be an issue with you. don't stress about it. Just let them know about all the drugs you take even the herbs and supplements. As they might have a effect. There will be a form you fill out and like others said they might check your airway( they didn't mine) Good luck.

there is really good fat free milk out there. It's called Skim Plus(I think it is only on the east coast though) or something like that. I tastes good and they have boosted the protein content. Check it out. -
Boy the scale sure does move slow!
