  1. @@soubifan700 Did you doctor not give you anything for the hernia like liquid Zantac. Only reason I'm asking is because the growling is usually associated with that and can give people the mistaken impression that they are hungry and cause over eating. I take mine first thing in the morning and it helps the growling and gurgling sounds coming from my tummy. Good luck with recovery and since you are a January Sleever there is a post op thread with tons of people including me who all had our surgery recently.
  2. I'm hoping I can get that last pound off before the end of the month. I would like a grand total of 30lbs. It just seems like a nice round number. I think the worst part of everything is the sipping of drinks and what not. I want to be about to just have a drink. I feel like I'm thirsty or my mouth is dry and the sipping is just not doing it for me, Kinda annoying but I guess a minor hiccup in my journey. another thing I find odd is I know I had a hiatel hernia and it was repaired but then to have never experienced heartburn expect when I eat garlic bread to experiencing it everyday is kinda a bummer too.
  3. @@mduffield Thanks for the info I just feel like I did alot of side crunches!
  4. SO I have not had any problems but today my stomach is feeling sore on my sleeved side. Its a dull ache but it is rather bothersome. Anyone else experiencing this?
  5. my doctor said straws were ok but then again every doctor is different. I don't really use straws but if you are sipping the liquid into your mouth and it is in your mouth before you swallow I don't know how it would expand your sleeve. I'm not a bariatric surgeon though so who knows
  6. @@Gendy Yes if I take too big of a sip i get that tightness. It is hard for me to remember to sip and not drink.
  7. @@Happy2BMe1 So your doctor allowed you to be on complete solids instantly and did not have to go through a transition of clear liquids? I noticed that I'm the only one with the clear liquids. I did too look on pinterst for protein shakes since I have to be on complete solids for 15 days as well. I do not even start the pureed phase until Feb 23rd which I find a lil difficult and hard but what can I do. I lost 86% of my stomach and my sleeve is crazy small. Well good luck on your journey and congrats on the weight loss.
  8. Oh I have been struggling today and yesterday with head hunger. I really want something to chew but I don't chew ice and I'm not really thinking that chewing food and spitting it out is something I'm even willing to do. I'm just tired of drinking everything that past my lips. Any one have a suggestion?
  9. @@egeland942010 Hey I too live in colorado but in the Springs. Good luck on your recovery and stay strong. yes walk and walk it helps sooo much.
  10. Well I'm sure that we have all struggled with the fact that if we had really healthy eating habits and worked out a whole bunch some of us (me included) would not of wanted or maybe even needed the surgery. I noticed you said that when not eating that you are thinking about food, The classic signs of addiction. I recommend talking to someone or join a group to help you figure out why you are always thinking about food. Is it cause you love it or turn to it for some reason. We can all suggest how to lose some of that weight but what I think you are struggling with more of a mental thing. If you can fix that situation now, you can continue your successful path. I wish you all the luck and hope that you are able to get where you want to be!
  11. Hey to my lovely January Sleevers I just got back from my docs office for a check up since I can't fly back to mexico I have to rely on my family practitioner to help look after me. So I have lost 13lbs in 9 days which is great. I'm very happy about that. My incisions are sore and itchy but are healing correctly. I'm not about to get the water and protein in but I still manage to get enough in to keep myself moving. I went to the Chinese restaurant and bought a huge contain of soup different kinds to mix of the flavors of food since I seem to be the only one on clear liquids only for 15 days. I don't even get to eat any type of solid foods until feb 12th. I hope everyone is doing well and don't forget to just walk for general exercise. Im glad to see some many new people in this forum! Good luck people!
  12. Honestly I would not even bother with bringing sooo much stuff. I literally bought clothes went to GNC bought one packet of lean 25 Protein and any pills just place in the clear zip lock bag they required. they don't do a bag check while coming in or out of Mexico in most cases. I guess I just recommend packing realistically. Then again I went alone. I did not even use half the stuff I bought and realized I could of just bought it while in mexico used it while in mexico and had less to carry. Good luck with surgery!
  13. I too had the same date as you and the walking did really help. I don't have the gas pains any longer and I'm just sore at my incision site. Yes the constant walking does really help and if anything make sure you don't over do it and drink as much as you can! Good luck.
  14. I noticed so many doctors have so many different post op diets. It is so weird. I can only have clear liquids for 10 days then just liquids for 10 days and then I can have pureed foods. I noticed people who have been eating pureed foods not even a week out. I wonder why there are just such dramatic differences in the diets or is it based on individuals with different weight goals? I just don't want to be that person who is eating pizza within two months.
  15. @@downsizingdiva do you have a fever? If you are still feeling like this by Tuesday I would go to the doc. I only say tuesday cause tomorrow is a holiday for most and docs are off. Don't over do it and I hope you def feel better soon.
  16. @@downsizingdiva Mmm I don't think so since Ive been off of iv since tuesday. I just think that it is the natural process of slowing down. I'm ok with this at the moment just hopes it starts up again next week otherwise I will go to the doctor.
  17. First time I woke up and did not have a weight loss, not that I'm disappointed but I def hope that it does not stop already.
  18. @@Ready_For_Me_13 Did you have a hietal hernia. My doctor told me that patients who experience this tend to confuse the growling feels and empty stomach feeling with hunger when really is a side effect of the hernia. I got some medication from the doctor that I have to take once a day for a month to ease that feeling. Only a thought and remember you probably aren't really hungry but getting dehydrated as well. trying in taking more fluids and if that is not easing the problem just call your doctor and see what they recommend. I know I have head hunger case I'm bored with the same flavors rolling through my mouth. Good luck to you!
  19. Mmm from what I recently just read they are not doing the chat rooms anymore but don't qoute me on that!
  20. BTW I slept awesome last night I did not realize how much I missed my bed from the horrible comforts of the hospital torture device they call a bed. I wake up and weigh myself everyday and I'm sooo happy I did this. I have no regrets. I'm glad I can just say this in good terms we are all LOSERS!
  21. @@AFmom I also can't nearly get in enough water or liquids. I don't know if you are aware but some people have smaller sleeves then others and that might be causes their restrictions. I noticed that my doctor said he gave me the smallest sleeve he could so I could have a high weight loss success rate. Just a thought. I would not concern yourself with it as long as you don't ruin yourself with slider foods you should be fine and lose weight at a continuous and healthy rate!
  22. My sexy ladies...I literally just got home From Mexico. I had my surgery on Monday and I'm not having any problems at all which is AWESOME. I'll agree that I'm sick of the broths but eh who cares it is not forever. I'm glad to see all my ladies in the post op. I have lost 8lbs since surgery and feel awesome. I'm able to sleep in bed but I have to put a pillow under my belly so it does not hurt my stitches. YAY! keep up the good work!
  23. @@shawnee1973 depending on the type of surgery,,,,scope or larger incision which since they have scopes already in sure they will go that way 1-2 hrs and gastric sleeve is about 45-1hr within its self.
  24. @@mduffield Im SOOOO excited for you! Yay make sure you let us know how post op went! Good luck and I will be sending you my good vibes!
  25. Hey Ladies and if there are any gents which I have not seen yet...I hope everyone is having an awesome day.. Three days to go then I'm leaving and 4 days til surgery.
