I use a pill container with the days printed on top. Every Sunday I fill it up for the week. Then I set a reminder on my phone so I don't forget to take them. Good luck!

Well, I'm a sleeve so it might be different for a bypass. I had a slice of cheese at about 2 months out. Managed about half.
pizza was always my absolute favorite... hey, I'm from Jersey LOL. I missed it desperately or thought I did. Honestly, the magic wasn't there. Although I will certainly have it again sometime in the future, I haven't had it since and don't miss it. Not a bad thing I think ????

During my first few weeks I wanted a piece of toast so badly. Or saltine crackers. But that seemed to be because i was nauseous I just wanted something bland.
I've had a couple of cravings. But my NUT told me not to try bread until I was 6 months out.

bread pretty much doesn't exist for me any more, but I did keep a pack of these around when I was off bread but still working on killing the cravings:

They are 105 calories and 17 carbs for 3 pieces.
I make my sandwiches by wrapping tofurkey up in a slice of cheese or lettuce and making a wrap of it.

Go ahead and try; but just a bite. OR, I would take a cracker, put tuna on top and a small piece of cheese. That was enough. If you really try a sandwich, I guarentee you will be very unhappy with the pain you feel so soon after sx. Yes, we all crave something. Maybe 1 bite would help you through. Just be willing to shoulder the consequence.

I am 12 weeks out and made a grilled cheese sandwich last night with fake cauliflower bread. I won't lie and say it tasted just like a grilled cheese:) However, you may consider it to take care of the cravings. Here is the link to the recipe:

I had a craving for a sandwich today- I am 6 weeks out- so I took a saltine cracker and put shaved ham and a quarter slice of cheese on top and popped it in the microwave for 15 seconds. I made 4 of these for lunch and it quenched my craving!

Try cloud bread. You can sub eggs with substitute liquid eggs and use low fat cream cheese in te recipe. I even add flavoring to make savory versions.

I am seven months post op. I craved a sandwich like crazy until I tried one for the first time at 5 months.
I found the bread fills my tummy and I do not get the Protein I need for the day if I do that. Also, it actually makes me very uncomfortable.
Now, if I use bread to make a slice of French toast where I soak it in the egg mixture, I don't have much of a problem with it. I can only eat about a third of that piece of French toast.
Crackers however work nice if you use chicken or tuna salad.
I only do this once in a while because I find if I eat to many bad carbs like bread or crackers, I don't lose that day.

My surgery date is March 23rd. My surgeon requires a two week pre-op diet which consists of four Protein Drinks daily and only Clear Liquids. Well I have three days till I start and let me just say I am eating anything and everything I can. I'm so excited for this life changing surgery and I'm scared. I know I will be able to eat things I want in moderation again someday. I just feel like this is the time to eat whatever guilt free! Anyone else experiencing this "last supper syndrome" ?

The colder the better for me. Room temperature does not sit well. I can tolerate hot tea though. So it's gotta be really hot or really cold. Good luck!

I had gastric bypass on 3/5/2015
My starting weight was 249, day of surgery my weight was 228, then three weeks after surgery I landed at 216. It's going to be a bit of a slow process but I am so darn proud to be where I'm at today. Greater things to come, just have to be patient ????

Congratulations! Glad to hear your surgery went great. Mine did too. I was a little uncomfotable when I woke from surgery but the pain meds kicked in pretty quik. I'm still in hospital until 6. Then I can go home. Surgery was a success!

Sounds like everyone is making it through. I'm on my 8th day of liquid diet. My doc requires two week on his prescribed Protein Drinks so 800 calories a day and 110 grams Protein. I'm allowed sugar free Jello and bouillon. And of course at least 64 oz Water. I'm feeling good. Last week was a little rough but I made it. Just keeping my eye on the prize. I go for surgery 3/23. Good luck everyone- WE CAN DO THIS!!

I'm not sure how I would have handled a two week pre-op diet. I'd like to think I would have rocked it. I wonder if the choices I'm making this week reflect how well I'll do once at maintenance? Anyone else worry about that?

I've heard that a heating pad is helpful and ditto the loose clothing. I've got a hospital bag I'm packing and have a book and iPod in there for some entertainment (still trying to decide on which knitting project to pack!)

Angelina73 I was discharged yesterday and my suggestion is to bring headphones and a night mask. My room mate liked to sleep with the overhead lights on. She also had company all day & night so the headphones helped to drown out their conversations. Pajama pants too-so you don't have to double up on Johnny.... Wishing you good luck!
