  1. It offended me as a newly banded patient, and Your statement about this being such a widely aired show is right on point. A Dr. with this opinion is entitled to it, but voicing it on this show, he can expect debate and criticism, If his statement and the backlash it caused makes people at least do some research and educate themselves about WLS it was worth getting my panties in a bunch over.
  2. I have pics in my gallery, but how did you get them at the bottom of your post? I love them by the way, you remind me of Jamie Lee Curtis that's a compliment I think Jamie Lee Curtis is beautiful.
  3. So far been banded since Nov 21, I will tell you no reflux for me, the band takes a bit longer to get the right fit for you so patience is a virtue. I don't regret it since having my band I've lost 14lbs the majority of my weight so far was lost pre-op I'm still waiting for it to be restrictive enough
  4. Gosh, I'm at 3.75 and ate a whole can of roast beef and a bag of steamed veggies, beginning to wonder if I even have a band
  5. Sometimes you can gain muscle and the scales will go up, but don't worry muscle helps burn fat so it will only help you in the long run.
  6. Today 4 dresses that didn't fit 3 weeks ago fit me 3 18's and one 16, the 16 I probably shouldn't wear until I lose another 10 but hey it went up over my hips and zipped this time so I'm counting it. That's my brag what's yours?
  7. I have never observed V-day but I thought it was funny that I saw a heart shaped box full of beef jerky the other day, it was geared for men, but I thought that's be perfect for a Weight loss patient.
  8. I have cried over head hunger before. The worst thing about trying to kick a food addiction is you gotta eat, but there are some foods I've figured out that trigger me worse than otheres, so I try to keep them out of sight. Or not buy them at all. Hang in there.
  9. Thank you that gives me a better Idea of what to expect I have 100 more to go after losing nearly 100lbs.
  10. You look wonderful. Be proud of yourself!!
  11. I have no experience with this, but a gal that goes to my DR. had a slip recently and decided to have the sleeve, they did hers all at once. She is fine.
  12. This morning I found a jar of opened Peanut Butter on the table. I asked everyone in my house who got into the peanut butter and left the lid off, when I asked my husband he said he got up to get some Water last night around 4 am and I was eating it off a spoon. I used to sleep walk when I was little, and have done all kinds of things in my sleep, killed spiders, looked for lost baseballs, read invisible books, had entire conversations, as far as I know I have never eaten in my sleep, and of special concern to me, I am not supposed to eat peanut butter, my NUT says its not very band friendly. Wonder why I can't just get on the treadmill in my sleep, I must not be doing this very often as I am losing weight but OMG I ate peanut butter in my sleep.
  13. I quit drinking it when I had to lose weight in order to have the surgery and I found out I was more of a soda addict than a food addict, I got headaches and would even dream I was drinking it I stopped drinking it cold turkey in May of 2014 before my band and the cravings get easier, twice I have had the diet version, I was out and about and didn't have my wallet and really needed Fluid and got it out of a machine, I sipped it very slowly and it really wasn't even all that good. If you have to drink it, put tons of ice in it and let it get kinda flat. I find that flavored coffee is a wonderful replacement, also lemon Water and crystal light.
  14. I think that most people think they are being supportive, and they don't really realize how much we get asked the same questions, I liken it to the 3 times I was pregnant, people ask the most personal questions, Are you going to have one more? You gonna get your tubes tied? Haven't your figured out what's causing that yet? Are you gonna breastfeed? See where I'm going with this? They don't realize they are being rude, they really don't. There are people that I hate to see coming my way cause I know the entire conversation is going to be about my surgery. I like what someone on here said to say I believe it was lipstick lady, "I'm tired of talking about my body, let's talk about yours." This is the only place I like to come to talk about my weight loss cause I feel understood here, and I have never felt judged even for mistakes, my mom gives me the stink eye when she thinks I shouldn't be eating something.
  15. @@briefs199 the scales somehow figure it in my weight was down but the number showing water weight was up he showed it to me cause I asked the same question. I was like I know that but how do you know that.
  16. I went in for a fill the other day and for 2 or 3 days I felt fuller when I was eating where there was no restriction before, I was shocked to learn that because I was retaining water from my menstrual cycle that it can press on the band, and cause further restriction, he didn't give me the normal 1.5cc that he usually gives because he was afraid it would be too much so he gave me .75cc. If anything feels off and it is scaring you call your Dr. though if you keep getting stuck even on soft foods you could have a blockage or could be too tight.
  17. Glad you called your Dr. throwing up is not good with the band.
  18. I'm at 3.75 cc's and just now starting to feel a slight difference. This is where we really have to be patient with ourselves and our Dr. and take this time to practice cutting stuff up small and not drinking with meals.
  19. Always heard "I eat to live, not live to eat. " never really got that statement, but I'm starting to understand it.
  20. I love you people.
  21. I was allowed yogurt on my pre op diet I don't know why your doc scratched it off all docs are different I wasn't allowed any food at all and some on here were allowed a light meal, like grilled chicken and salad.
  22. LOL okay I am going to clear something up just in case I've given everyone the impression I'm trying to make my neighbors dog obese, the pastries were free, I would never feed something like that to a dog on a regular everyday basis I have an indoor dog myself named Pepper, he is half blue tick beagle and half jack russell terrier and if he gets any table scraps at all it is usually just scrambled eggs from my kids Breakfast. We actually don't produce a lot of leftovers we are a family of 5 with a 13 year old boy going on 14 who plays football and is into weightlifting and I kid you not always hungry. My husband brought home a free ham from work the other day and that's the 1st time in a while I re purposed food, I cubed it up and made some potatoe soup with what was left. I just want everyone to know I'm not out to hurt this poor dog I just didn't want those sweets home alone with me in the house and the dog just happened to be in my front yard, he lives a good mile from my house, my 13 year old might of ate them but he is spending a week with an aunt while his uncle is in New York, he has to help her reach things as she has an artificial hip and can't stand for long periods at a time.
  23. I am not from Illinois but i have medicaid in KY, and the 1st 2 stipulations you list are the same in KY the 3rd is slightly different it's only 5% of body weight here. I had no trouble getting approved. I hope it goes just as well for you and someone can come along and answer this.
  24. Well, it's like I said, the dog is allowed to roam the neighborhood tearing up stuff and had I put my garbage out with pastries in it, he would have tried to get to it anyways, don't worry this dog gets plenty of exercise, chasing his owner's tractor all over the place, he probably can work it off better than I can.
