MrsMike1 got a reaction from BLERDgirl in Winter has HIT
I like all of Leslie Sansone's DVDs. Walk away the pounds, etc.. They have power walks, strength training all incorporated into one for at home exercise. Also, if you have Comcast cable , you can go On-Demand for free exercise workouts.

I'm so glad all of you posted replies to her post. I'm 4 days post op and have been feeling the same way. I must admit though it does get a little bit better everyday. I'm also glad to know that I'm not alone with the Water issues.

I learned today that I can use my candle warming plate to keep my tiny bowls and plates warm when I eat....since it takes me FOREVER to eat????! Glass not plastic! I also use my heating pad I bought for the hospital and never used.

I am living proof that VSG is a miracle! Wherever you are on your journey don't lose hope. You will one day be posting pics just like mine. Now for the pics - First of course is my before pic - 377 pounds of misery.

180 pounds strong and fit - ready to take on my first 5k.

Thats me on the top - at 377 pounds definitely would not have made it.

Finished the 5k - got the medal - and added my first 5k to my bucket list. Looking forward to many future adventures in life with my new healthy body!

@@MrsMike1 it sounds like possibly your vagus nerve is injured but you really should contact your surgeon for advice.

Perhaps something for reflux would help. Either an increase in what you're already taking or a different PPI all together.

    Yup. You're normal.
And you'll figure it all out. Really. I promise.
It's just a bit overwhelming the day after surgery. Tonight, just sip your Water (as much as you can) and try to get some rest.
You've weeks and months to get your new life all the way to "normal."
I'm nearly 3 months out, and at this point I feel VERY comfortable navigating this new way of life.
But one of the things about "this new way of life" is that it's full of phases. You keep learning new things at each phase.
Everyone will tell you ... "It gets better."
And it does. Just repeat that to yourself: "It gets better."
    A LOT better.

If you went on the charts, I needed to lose 48 pounds to get to a "normal" BMI of 24.9 or 155 pounds at 5'6". At 65%, that would have only lost 31.2 pounds in a year. Well, I lost 70.8 pounds in less than 9 months. Seems like a lot of us on here have met our goal or are very close to it in 1 year or less.
I wonder if this is a stat for all WLS as a whole? I know there are some who struggle with losing the weight on VSG, but it seems to be a small percentage. And, I don't mean that to sound as trite as it probably does in writing. I so feel for anyone struggling with any weightloss - VSG, RYN, DS, Band, calorie counting etc. We've all been there and know the scars of those battles.
As far as getting to where I am ... I wish I could say it was all me and my strict compliance, but I haven't done very well at all on the exercise and haven't been such a stickler on the carbohydrate counting either. Having said that, I know that more exercise will help tone me up more & get off the last 7 I want to have gone by Christmas.
All of that is to say, I don't know why your nut told you this. It does sound a bit defeating, doesn't it? Maybe use it as a way to motivate yourself to "beat the numbers". Show them that your sleeve will take you to your goal!

I just started the pre-op on Saturday. The doc gave me a set of "Health Wise" foods that are not too great as far as taste is concerned, but I'm down a couple of pounds already, so I really can't complain. Surgery is on the 11th, and I have to say that reading the experiences of everyone on this site has been an inspiration. You all have me looking forward to the procedure and the new life to come!
