1. DH and I were suppose to get our first fill on Dec 5. Unfortunately, he is going to the Floridia Keys that week:rolleyes:, so we can't get in until Dec 19.
2. OH TISH!!! That's wonderful!!!!!!
3. I can't imagine having to eat mushies for 2 weeks. My doctor allowed regular food after the 4th day. Glad to hear all went well at your doctor's visit.
4. I would call the doctor. I nor my DH have had this.
5. I think it's natural to be scared of something that you have never done before. It's a giving up of the control and having to rely on someone else. I've had numerous surgeries, and I was scared. I just told myself if today was my day then so be it. I know that God will take care of me. Today is one week for me. Good luck on Wednesday.
6. My doctor who is listed as an instructor for the Lap Band does the first fill at 3 weeks. As a matter of fact I have heard many people say their doctor's said not to use a straw when drinking fluids. He recommends it. I don't feel he is giving bad information, just different than what other doctor's recommend. Look at the difference in pre-op diets.
7. I'm Wendy. I am 47 years old and I have been married for almost 25 years to Charlie. I was born and raised in Kentucky. I graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in public relations. I currently work at a hotel one day a week and teach preschool two days. My plans are to be back in school in January to get my license to teach. Charlie and I have two boys. Wes who is 21 and a Junior in college. Ian is 8 and is in the second grade. We also have a fur daughter, Honey!! She is spoiled rotten and definitely has us wrapped around her little paw. LOL
8. Welcome!!! I was banded on Nov 19. My DH was banded on Nov 14. My DH had the shoulder pains, but I haven't had any problems at all. My biggest problem was that I kinda overdid it and caused one of my incesions to bleed.
9. Well, my family was suppose to go to my parent's, but I just didn't feel like sitting in the car for 3+ hours. On top of it my youngest, Ian was sick. We ended up calling Cracker Barrel and ordering 3 dinners for the 4 of us. We ended up only eating 2 of the dinners. LOL I had a few bites of turkey. I was afraid it would get stuck. I also had some mashed potatoes with gravy, a little stuffing and sweet potatoes casserole. I also had a couple of bites of pumpkin pie.
10. I read somewhere that you can expect a 10 lb gain after surgery. Between the IV's, drugs and swelling it makes sense. I went to WW on Wednesday. I was up .2. I was thrilled with that.
11. Oh, gosh today is my 3rd day. I'm feeling great. I --knock on wood--haven't had any of the pains that you all have described. My DH had terrible shoulder pains. I'm actually heading out to WW and then off to the chriopractors.
12. Tish I'm so sorry. I know I would have been so upset if this had happened to me. The good thing is that your doctor's have found a problem that could have really caused you problems down the road. I hope you don't leave the November board. I bet you will ready to go by the first of the year.
13. Darn I tried to fix my spelling mistake on my post and I made it worse.
14. Good luck Melissa. My surgery was yesterday. Take it easy when you get home.
15.
Well I'm offially banded. My surgery was at 9:00 and I was leaving the hospital before 3.

I'm a little sore today, mostly the incesion whee the port is. I think I was doing to much this morning, because that was bleeding.

Thanks for all the toughts. I'm going to be ready to go tomorrow. Lots of errands to run.

Question, did you all feel dried out. I guess that is the hydrocodone that they gave to me. I can't seem to get enough to drink.

16. I'm in Murfreesboro, TN. I am being banded on November 19--TOMORROW!! My surgery is at Baptist Hospital with Dr. Morton.
17. Well, I'm getting ready for my surgery in the AM. I have to be at the hospital at 6:30. Surgery is at 9:30. I'm excited and scared. I'll be glad to get on with my life. It's been less than a week for my DH and I can already tell a difference.
18. Thanks Stephanie!! I finally figured it out!
19. Wes is 21 and Ian is 8. We were very slow about getting the second one. LOL
20. My DS got his surgery date today!! He will be banded on December 17!! He was really excited. We are all excited for him. I worried that the insurance company wouldn't approve him because of his age.
21. You are most welcome to give me compliments all day long. LOL I love groups like this. I'm am member of a group of women who were pregnant and due in April 1999. Our group is still together. It's such a great group. We disagree sometimes, but I swear I tell those girls things that I would never tell others.
22. Congrats Tracy!!! :clap2: Wow, you were in and out pretty quickly. My DH had to be there at 6:00 AM for a 9:00 AM surgery and he wasn't released until about 5:00. I hope I get out as quick as you on Monday.
23. Okay I can't figure out how to get my glitter signature and my weight tracher BOTH in my Siggy!! Any help would be appreciated.
24. Well, I'm not too crazy about people making comments about a group they aren't a member of. I think only the November people have a right to say such things. I personally, pretty much agree with them. I don't like the name and won't use it. But since I'm a member of this group I have the right to say that. LOL And they don't!!! I would just ignore that nasty stuff. That's why I stay out of areas like that. I will probably only post here and in the TN area.
