  1. Thanks, guys! Your inromation is helpful. Its been 7 weeks since my surgery. It is good to know that my stomach will settle down over time; so in the meantime, I'll keep doing what I am supposed to and carry on! Thanks!

    Something feels stuck

That happened to me as well-- the feeling stuck part. I didn't experience any burn. Is it a burn in your throat or in your stomach? If the burn is in your stomach, then you shoud call your doctor. However, if it is in your throat, it is probably just reflux. Were you sent home with a medication for heartburn/gastroesophageal reflux? If so, be sure to take it as it should help with any heartburn/reflux you may be experiencing. It is normal to feel like whatever you swallow (your Water and Protein shakes) are sitting right in your throat. But the good news is that it does get better. Stick with it, you are doing great!
  3. Every time I eat (doesn't matter what it is), my stomach gets gurgley and uncomfortable. It doesn't exactly hurt, but feels yucky. Eating is just unpleasnt. It is almost like I also eat a bunch or air or something, it is hard to explain. It is just wierd-- has anyone experienced this?
  4. Thanks everyone. This is really helpful. I just am concerned that I am not getting in the Water and Protein I need. But sounds normal for how early it is. Oh, I checked the protein shake and it is actually 20 grams, not 10 in the shake. But I will check out the Protein Shake (Elode) mentions that has 30! Anyway, I'll give the Doc a call tomorrow to be sure I'm doing what he thinks is best (he may tell me the same thing (as sleevemom88 and Maggie'sMom)-- concentrate on water for now and get in what protein I can. Anyway, thanks for the feedback, really helps put my mind at ease.
  5. My surgery was on 12/11, I was two days in hospital and came home yesterday. I am literally drinking all the time to try to get the Water I need, but am only able to get about 26 oz of water, and it takes me 3 hours to get one Protein shake down, so I have only had 10 grams of protein today. Is this normal? I feel like my tummy is full to the top and I am uncomfortable. I don't want to mess this up.
  6. Wow, it's really great to hear from everyone who is also having their surgery on or around the same time as I am. So, based on everyone's feedback, sounds like being simultaneously excited and panicked is "normal".
  7. Woo-hoo! I got my surgery date- Dec 11th. Has anyone started to substitute one meal a day with Protein shakes? I don't start the all liquid diet until Nov 28th, but was wondering if I should start getting used to the Protein Shakes by substituting one meal a day with the protein shake?
