    When to change clothing sizes?

I am 55 pounds down and made a trip to Goodwill like many others. I also took two large bags of too large clothes with me to donate. I bought two or three pants in current size and two sizes smaller. I also bought shirts in medium and large. My 3&2 XLs started looking ridiculous on me! Can now easily wear XL and some larges. But I got everything at a great price so I don't mind only using them for a short time!

Water is making me nauseous. WTH?!

Plain water tasted so bad to me after surgery. It took several weeks before I could tolerate it again. People looked at me like I was crazy when I said that water tasted awful!

    november sleevers.

Had my surgery on 11/16. I hit the dreaded stall and it lasted about two weeks! During the stall, things shifted on my body and my size changed but not the scale. Now loss is slow but a little every day. Just keep up the protein and water! The scale will move again....everyone goes through it

    What took you to Mexico?

I had my surgery with Dr. Elias Ortiz. I cannot say enough wonderful things about him, the hospital staff, and the staff of Alighterme! My insurance would only pay for lapband or full gastric bypass (neither I wanted), so I chose Mexico and self-pay. All of my follow-up care has been done by my primary care doctor and I was given my complete surgical records from Dr. Ortiz. I traveled alone but when I was picked up at the airport, the van was full of other patients having surgery the same day. We quickly became friends and still keep in touch regularly!

    Any Florida Sleevers?

Hi everyone! I am in Lithia (east of Tampa) here. Hope you are all doing well.
  9. Making progress on weight loss, yay! My biggest victory....I am now off of diabetic meds, high cholesterol meds, and my BMI is down to 33 from 41! To me, it's not all scale.

I did! It seems like it took my bladder a long time to wake up. Others were going all the time but I was only going like twice a day. It for better about three days later.

    November sleevers in Mexico?

So glad to hear you are doing well. When you discharge and go back to the hotel, don't try to do too much. We went shopping and I was absolutely exhausted and wished I hadn't gone. In the beginning, just doing a little tires you out.

Made it home okay. It took a lot out of me. I was so very tired but I also had a long trip. Today is much better though!

    November sleevers in Mexico?

I am doing fine, just sore (like expected). I fly out tomorrow and can't wait to be home. I do tire out pretty easily still so I try not to do too much. Revgirl. I haven't had any throat issues. I couldn't even tell it happened.

    November sleevers in Mexico?

@@MS Bling It is going to depend on your individual doctor. Several of us were kind of congested just from the flight. It wasn't a problem. I would think as long as you aren't "sick" (running a fever and severely congested) they will go ahead with surgery.

    Bariatric Pal TJ Doctor Offerings?

@@Rocky1 No but you aren't in bed much at all, unless you want gas pains. You are put in compression stockings that go up to your hip and can wear them as long as you want. I had my surgery on Sunday at noon and was up walking the halls at 3:00. You feel really good walking. When you go back to your room, you are tired and a little sore. We (me and my 4 new friends) walk around and talk and then go rest for awhile. I usually nap for about 1-2 hours then get up again. Also I was given my Heparin shot about 24 hours after surgery, to help prevent clots.

    Bariatric Pal TJ Doctor Offerings?

Everyone has their preference and favorites. I am sitting in Mi Doctor Hospital right now and had surgery yesterday with Elias Ortiz. He and Dr Morales are amazing; so are the anesthesiologist, hospital coordinator, and the staff. The Marriott is fabulous. I cannot say enough good about the positive experience I have had here. And I have some new surgery buddies that I met here. My cost was $4400 and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I just passed my leak test and now I am sipping apple juice

    November sleevers in Mexico?

@@Becca R. I was number three. I went back at noon and was up walking around at 3:00. I am trying not to feel the guilty feelings. It does feel so good to be on the other side of this though. I haven't heard from Revgirl at all. I am worried too. @ Don't be scared at all. This place is great and the staff will do everything in their power for you to be happy and pain free. They come by and give you anti-nausea meds and pain meds every few hours. They also will give you sleeping meds if you want them. I just passed my leak test and apple juice never tasted so good!!! And I haven't even felt the slightest bit hungry yet. That's awesome considering I was on the clear diet before surgery. So it's been like a week now!

    November sleevers in Mexico?

Hey all! I am doing well here. Some pain on my left side and the incisions are a little sore but can't complain. They are taking such good care of us at Mi Doctor Hospital. I got to meet with Dr Ortiz and Dr Morales, the internal medicine doctor and the anesthesiologist. They all are so nice and reassuring. One of the girls in our group had some problems and Dr Ortiz came back here at 12:30am and stayed with her until 4am. He really cares about his patients. I'm going for my leak test in a few. Thank you for all the encouragement and prayers!!!

    November sleevers in Mexico?

@@Becca R. Thanks so much Becca. I have a great group of ladies with me here at the hotel. There are five of us going together. Can't complain at all about the hotel, it is great and so clean. And my driver, Remy, was fabulous. Just waiting to be picked up and taken to the hospital. I will check in after it's all over. Say a little prayer for us joining the losers bench today!
