  1. I have gone out with my boyfriend and his baby and family, to eat several times since surgery. I get the Soup and usually just pick at it. But I enjoy just being out and the convo mostly. Do I want to go face first in the pizza at bertuccis? Sure do, but I think about the pain it would cause and then I'm all set.

  2. Is anyone still having issues with pain? I had my surgery on 10/22 and have been trying to ween myself on less pain meds because I'll run out soon. Last night I took 1&1/2 perc and when I woke up this morning I had a 7 level pain, and after showering I literally had to lay down and wait for the meds to kick in. During the day I can exist fine on 1&1/2, but it seems as night and in the am I need the 2 to manage the pain. I'm worried I'm still in too much pain, and also that when I do run out the dr will not give me more. I'd love to hear your thoughts, I know some said they weren't given pain meds at all, I honestly don't know how you exist. Also I get regular gallstones and still function, so I'm not being a whimp. ????

  3. My husband and I both had about 170lbs to lose when we had our sleeves done. He just hit his surgiversary and has lost 120. I'm currently in month 6 and have lost my gallbladder and about 90lbs since high. Both of us experienced crazy rapid weight loss at first, then followed by stalls that last anywhere from 2 weeks to, in my husbands case, 9 weeks. For the longer ones, that was a sign we were doing something wrong. The fix for the dreaded 9 week stall was to nix the full sugar gatorade that he had come to lean on as a soda replacement and go for g2 lower sugar gatorade. Most people will say this is a no-brainer, but its a perfect example of how silly things can sneak in on you when you're not being vigilant and careful.

It sounds like you're really serious about beating the weight for good. It's not an easy path, but for us it has been effective. And even though neither of us are at goal now, I have faith we'll get there with our tool and steadily working the plan.

Thanks for the tip, it's very daunting when you have an incredible amount of weight to loose. I wonder if it'll take the 18-24 months, like others.

  4. I started reducing my pain meds also, but I'm using Tylenol instead of the prescribed meds for pain. Have you tried that or are you just doing without pain meds altogether?

my surgeon told me to substitute with aleeve, I reduced from 2 percocet to 1 with aleeve.

  5. We're you given blood thinner shots in your belly after surgery? I was given 2 a day to prevent blood clots. I wonder if that could be the cause of the nose bleeds? It might be something to mention to your surgeon just to see if it's normal.

I am doing them for 2 weeks at home, I don't have nose bleeds but I am getting some insane bruising, tennis ball size.

  6. How are you doing?? Mine was the 20th.

Good for the most part, over the weekend and post surgery I was pushing it like super woman, even went to the zoo on Sunday. Starting yesturday and this morning I'm starting to realize I overdid it greatly, I'm exhausted and just overall not feeling well. At the same time I'm trying to cut back on the pain med to 1/2 and that's giving me some issues. So im in the process of learning to take it easy. As my boyfriend said to me yesturday " you had major surgery, sleep baby" I just hate not doing anything.
