Gah! When would you disclose surgery plans in hiring process?
My HR department didn't even want to know what the surgery was for. I'd say just do the FMLA.

I'm going to try the Tylenol and see if I can substitute that. Thanks for the tip. They also fixed a hernia, so I'm not sure if that's part of why I'm still in pain....

Depressed
I have gone out with my boyfriend and his baby and family, to eat several times since surgery. I get the soup and usually just pick at it. But I enjoy just being out and the convo mostly. Do I want to go face first in the pizza at bertuccis? Sure do, but I think about the pain it would cause and then I'm all set.

How long off work?
I took 4 to start, but my job is very stressful so I'm thinking I'll stretch it out to 6.

Is anyone still having issues with pain? I had my surgery on 10/22 and have been trying to ween myself on less pain meds because I'll run out soon. Last night I took 1&1/2 perc and when I woke up this morning I had a 7 level pain, and after showering I literally had to lay down and wait for the meds to kick in. During the day I can exist fine on 1&1/2, but it seems as night and in the am I need the 2 to manage the pain. I'm worried I'm still in too much pain, and also that when I do run out the dr will not give me more. I'd love to hear your thoughts, I know some said they weren't given pain meds at all, I honestly don't know how you exist. Also I get regular gallstones and still function, so I'm not being a whimp. ????

Stall at 1.5 weeks post-op-seriously?
I'm just weighing in at the Dr's too, as to not drive myself nuts.

OVER 300 lbs
I'm waiting to get to 300, started at 530, down to 499 two weeks before surgery. And have my 2 week post op next week, can't wait to see what I've lost.

Was Your Gall Bladder Removed?
I'm worried because I had stones pre-surgery, but they felt it wasn't safe to remove at the time of surgery. I'm hoping mine doesn't act up, and if it does, it's cut asap.

Honestly that's my plan. I know it's going to be hard to get under 200/250, I plan to work my ass off until I get to what I find comfortable.

Yeah, those are some of my concerns. My friend is 3 months out so she's just hitting the hairloss phase and starting to have problems with her gallbladder.

OCTOBER 2014
I was given like 6 meds! Id call too, I called the day after I was released because I had a pain in the back of my leg. They asked me questions and decided based on the situation it was most likely not a clot.

Thanks for the tip, it's very daunting when you have an incredible amount of weight to loose. I wonder if it'll take the 18-24 months, like others.

She said the nsaid thing was more for bypass, and she felt it would help with the hernia. I asked the nurse at the hospital and the traveling nurse as well, because I'd heard the same as you.

High BMI sleevers weight loss amounts.
I have about 350lbs to 300 to loose until I'm at a goal weight (200-150lbs). I was wondering who had a larger bmi and how quickly they lost it. My friend who had surgery lost a good amount of hers quickly then plateaued but she had less than 100lbs to loose so I feel like I can't really compare her journey.

OCTOBER 2014
Good for the most part, over the weekend and post surgery I was pushing it like super woman, even went to the zoo on Sunday. Starting yesturday and this morning I'm starting to realize I overdid it greatly, I'm exhausted and just overall not feeling well. At the same time I'm trying to cut back on the pain med to 1/2 and that's giving me some issues. So im in the process of learning to take it easy. As my boyfriend said to me yesturday " you had major surgery, sleep baby" I just hate not doing anything.

Severe stomach pain
I'd say gallbladder, that sounds like how my attacks are.
