Another step in the right direction and an emotional eating question
Walking/hiking mostly. I also coach flag football which gets me out of the house a couple of nights a week. Just go outside and wander around, look for little projects around the house. Where I'm from we call that "piddling" Also, 40 isn't even close to old.

Another step in the right direction and an emotional eating question
It's cool that your family doctor is so supportive. Out of curiosity is he younger? I have found that older doctors have a more primitive view of bariatrics. I am also an emotional eater (yes men do that too!) the only advice I can offer is try and be as active as you can. The more time I spend alone on the couch the more likely I am to fall back into the cycle of depression and binge eating. Anyway I wish you the best of luck on your journey!

Good deals on shakes, vitamins, etc.
Trying to stock up on post surgery needs. Amazon has 18 pack of Premier Protein ready made shakes for $30 after shipping. Anyone have any other good deals they would like to share?

Consultation with Surgeon and NUT
I second the notepad advice. May also want to write out all your questions beforehand as you will be hit with a lot of information and your mind may go blank, as mine does lol.

Smoking
God bless all those who are trying to quit tobacco. It is a hard thing to do, but this road we are taking is full of bumps, just consider this one you have to pass. My surgeon requires you to take a nicotine test prior to surgery.

Cpap machine

Got told by a coworker today that I'm taking the "easy way"
I bet if this guy was at a point in his life where he and his doctor felt surgical intervention was needed in order to lose weight and save his life then he would change his tune.

Gastric Bypass VS Sleeve
I have went back and forth in my head countless times between the two options. My surgeon recommends RNY and my PCP recommends the sleeve. It is a very hard decision to make.

EGD was today
Sorry to hear about this. I had my EGD done yesterday as well. No troubles here. It was like I fell asleep and woke up and it was all over with. I didn't get to talk to my surgeon but my wife did and she said all went well. She did mention there was a erosion of my stomach and they took a biopsy. Did your surgeon mention anything like this to you? My wife seems to thing this is standard but it still concerns me. My next apt is on the 11th. Good luck to you, hope you feel better!
