    Where are the November Sleevers?

I too have hit a wall with losing -- I have stayed between 177 and 180 for the past couple of months. I know I need to increase my exercising -- I currently walk 1-2x a week and that's about it. I have been working long days - mostly 11-12 hour days. I do know I need to put myself first rather than putting in so many hours, but that is easier said than done. I am very happy that I went from a size 24 to a size 16 with some 16s being a bit baggie. I just really would like to get down to a 12-14! I know that this tool needs to be used properly, and not exercising does not help. I hope others are doing better than I am. I eat the same things for my daytime eating, and truly only vary at the evening meal. Perhaps I need to change it up a bit ? Would like to know how others have been doing!

    Where are the November Sleevers?

Wow! I am feeling like I'm not doing as good as I should be! You all have lost so much including your pre-op diet! Including the pre-op loss, I'm down 36 pounds. I'm very happy with the loss, but WOW a lot of you are doing much better! I am still having some difficulty eating real foods at dinner. I mostly eat cottage cheese, yogurt, and cheese sticks for lunch and snacks, while at dinner I try to eat chicken, beef, pork and veggies. I know that I need to up my water drinking, as this is hard for me to get the 64 ounces in. I also feel like I have to go back to including the shakes to make sure I'm hitting all my protein. I work in an office and have had many 12 hour days lately, so exercise is not being done regularly (averaging 1-2 times a week for 20 minutes). I really am pleased that I am making progress, but it just seems like a lot of you have been doing better. I hope the November sleevers continue to provide updates and suggestions!

    Where are the November Sleevers?

I lost 26 pounds so far. I can eat chicken if cut into very small pieces and it doesn't give me a problem. Much more than that makes my stomach feel yucky. I am still losing, but like a tenth of a pound at a time, not like right after the surgery when it was a half a pound or more a day. I see the dr. tomorrow, so looking forward to seeing what is said. I'm walking 2-3 times a week, but I've been working long hours so it's been hard to do much more than that.

    Where are the November Sleevers?

Hi All! My surgery was the 24th and I had not only the sleeve, but also had my gallbladder removed, and a hiatal hernia repaired. I was out of work for 3 weeks and returned to work on December 15th. I am trying to eat more normal foods, but it isn't sitting well in my stomach. It's not that I'm eating more than I should at all. I think it's the fact that it's so "heavy" compared to the shakes, yogurt, and cottage cheese that I was having previously. How have you progressed on your foods? Any tips? I have my followup doctor appointment this week, so I'm hoping to discuss this with him. I also have not been losing as much as I did the first few weeks, and I'm slightly disappointed. Anyone else experiencing this? Hope to hear from some of you that had the sleeve done in November like me! Chris

    Where are the November Sleevers?

My surgery was Monday, the 24th, at around 1 PM. Since I had the sleeve, gall bladder removal and fix a hiatal hernia, the surgery took 2+ hours. I didn't get to my room until after 6 PM. They had me on morphine, so I was doing okay. The next morning around 9 AM, I had to go to xray to make sure there weren't any leaks. That was so tough! You swallow this crappy tasting stuff, and had to stand for them to take the xrays while the stuff goes down. I ended up having dry heaves and them telling me to try to stand still, then turn this way, then that way. It was awful! When I got back to my room they gave me a shot to help stop the nausea -- well, whatever it was made me sleep the entire day! I woke up around 5 when the doctor came in to check on me. Thank goodness I didn't have any leaks! We were expecting snow starting after Midnight on Tuesday night, so I was hoping to get released that evening. Dr. said I could go home, as long as I promised to stick with getting my fluids and keep moving around. Of course, I did, and I was home around 7:30-8:30 that night. We ended up getting 6 inches of snow during the evening into the day on Wednesday, so I was really glad I came home. The program I am on has 5 stages to get back to eating. The first week after surgery, you are allowed nothing but Clear liquids -- broth, Water, sugar free Jello and 2 Protein shakes a day. A total of 48-64 ounces of fluids a day. After I go to the Dr this coming Monday morning, I will learn if I can move to stage 2 - full liquids which includes nonfat greek yogurt, sugar free pudding, strained broths/soups, along with stage 1 items. Hopefully I will get the okay. The most surprising thing to me is that I'm not hungry like I thought I would be. And if I do have the urge to "eat", I keep telling myself, I didn't go through all this for me to go back to eating like I used to. I need to keep on track and not blow all the effort I just went through. This has helped me a lot. I finally did tell my family members about all the reasons I had the surgery. They were very supportive and quite surprised that I had the guts to do this. I'm not known in my family as being brave when it comes to pain, surgeries, etc. I wish you all the very best! I know you feel like you've been hit by a truck the first couple days, but you just keep the end result in your mind and know that it is all worth it!!! As of today, I have lost 12 pounds from the beginning of my pre-surgery diet til now. It's a step in the right direction!!! Good luck to you all!!

    Where are the November Sleevers?

I had my endoscopy last Wednesday, and it turns out I have a hiatal hernia that also needs to be corrected. So now I am getting my sleeve, the hernia repaired, and my gall bladder out. Guess I'm getting my money's worth! LOL! I've lost since I've been on the pre-op diet. Did anyone have to use special soap 5 days prior to their surgery and to put ointment in their nose 2x a day? I start that tomorrow. Dr. said it's to prevent MRSA. Monday is my surgery. I hope that I end up in the hospital for overnight and not more due to the other items being done. Hope I'm feeling okay enough to enjoy the family on Thanksgiving (no, not eating, just being with the family!)!! Getting down to the wire here! Getting excited and nervous at same time!

    Where are the November Sleevers?

My surgery is the 24th. My endoscopy is next week on the 12th. I'm really looking forward to this new phase of my life. I start the preop diet next week. I wonder how many of you have told others besides your spouse that you are having the surgery. I haven't yet told anyone except my best friends that I'm doing this. I don't want to hear any negatives, since this is what I want to do to help me improve my health. I do have to have my gall bladder out because I have gallstones and they will do at the time of my sleeve. I have been telling everyone I'm getting my gall bladder out and that's all. I really enjoy everyone's posts!!
