I had my sleeve surgery aug 12th and went to the store to get my vitamins and calcium but just wanted to know do i really need iron pills or not

I had my surgery aug 12th.I'm still on this protein shake diet and see then dietiantion tomorrow.The shakes are starting to make me feel sick hope i dont have to drink them forever and i want some soft food's but still need to get my protein in.I tried scammbled eggs it didnt stay down

I had my surgery August 18, 1 week ago today. Don't you have a meal plan? You should start eating yogourt, light soups with protein added, pureed fruits, lots of stuff. I have it all planned for me until week 5 where it gets more general.
I hope your dietitian knows about bypass and she can help you come up with a real meal plan.

My surgery is tomorrow im kind of nervous but so ready

tomorrow i start my pre op diet.I have to have 3 protein shakes a day for 2 weeks.At the dr office they said that medicade asked for some info and now they havent gave us a yes that they will or not pay for my medicare did but medicade is holding everything up.Its frustrating but hopefully they will give us a yes soon surgery is aug 12th

I gained 1/2 this week and now that surgery is in aug they want me to focus more on my protein intake

I still haven't decided which surgery i want i think the sleeve becasue there's no moving things around and no dumping.But the gastric bypass my mom had and gained her weight back i guess if u eat junk that will happen and is the pouch they make the same size for both surgerys

goodmorning everyone i have a question.I'm doing shakes right now because i have a weigh in tue i think i didnt lose i had stuff i shouldnt have.I have been doing protein shakes but my mom said do powdered milk add your protein mix and dry milk is that going to be to much milk or just a better source of protein i need to lost weight not add more to it

I had my 1 1/2 year follow-up yesterday. One thing I discussed with my bariatric physician was that my primary doctor was contra- indicating her directions, and it was causing me confusion. She very kindly said that in bariatric matters, I should follow the bariatric doctor who is the specialist in that field, and follow my primary in everything else. Good point, so I guess that goes for Mom, too. I assume she is not standing over your shoulder all day long. If she is, find something for her to do.

well i lost 1 lb that's it.I'm not eatting much afraid of gaining weight but i know i should eat 3 meals ady and weigh everything im not good with serving sizes.I guess a need to eat 3 healthy meals a day so when i walk there will be something there to burn off

hello my weigh in is later today im nervous.I have been getting message's from some friends saying why have the surgery if i can lose weight.I cant keep it off plus it will help with some of my health issues and they will alter my body and be on vitamins and supplaments the rest of my life i get it im so close to surgery.I'm getting the sleeve

You are picking the tool for that works best for you. Having the surgery, whichever one is chosen, only works if your commited to changing your lifestyle. I have seen and heard more than a few comments and questions you are receiving as I was on the receiving end of them too. Disregard those comments and questions, just concentrate on you. Best wishes.

Helo everyone i have a weigh in tue need to lose atleast a pound next week and the week after to get my surgery he want's 3 weight lose in a row ive been walking 2 to 3 miles a day but have eaten some stuff i shouldnt because of my neice birthday

Sometime's i do 1 in the am and another at night i feel bad sometimes when i eat something not supposed to so it makes me want to walk more and i think ill cry if i mess these 2 weigh in's up two more weight lose the next two weeks then i get my surgery date.today was my neice birthday i had cake chicken breast and pop uugghh

Its a crazy balance, exercise adds muscle so sometimes you don't move the scale but you can tell in your clothes. Let them know you have been walking that mile every day so they will take into consideration your commitment to this. Also if you have been walking a mile every day for a week, its time to step it up and do a mile and a half? You've got this!

Well my weigh in is tue i hope i lose something a few lb's would be great i have been walking a mile evryday for the last 2 week's and watching what i eat

I'm so frustrated today.I have been walking a mile everyday and tring to measure what i eat i'm ready to give up i have done everything they asked of me .Now the dr wont give me the surgery until i lose weight .I have to lose 3 weeks in a row but gained at this weigh in any suggestions i do carnation instant breakfast twice a day and eat fish or chicken a day

Muscle definitely burns fat, the cardio should do you good. Steve's pre-op diet is very similar to the one I did and it really does work. If yu are hungry still on it, have some reduced sodium chicken broth or SF jello. Drink a minimum of 64 ounces of SF beverage, no sodas. Get as much water as you can in that 64 ounces. Protein shakes count toward the 64 ounces. Be very careful which protein shakes you do, not all are made equal. Do Whey Protein Isolate, they have a higher percent of protein than others. Make sure they are low sugar, and watch what yuo are mixing them with. Use Fairlife milk or unsweetened almond milk. Message me privately if you would like more help. I started new eating habits Mid-January of this year and lost 45 pounds before surgery including my pre-op diet time. I am now 11 days post op and have lost 6 more pounds including the 4 I gained from fluid retention in surgery. Good luck! Don't give up you CAN do this!!!
