Well I understand all the hype now! I got my first fill today! 3CC in my 10CC band! Woo Hoo! It was NOT bad at all. I didn't look at the needles and was FINE. The sensation you get during the injection is a total trip too! Afterward my doc had me sip some Water to make sure I wasn't too tight. As I drank I could feel it hit my pouch, and it was the most amazing thing ever! My docs then made fun of me because I was saying "oh wow this is so cool!" I get fill number 2 in a month and I will NOT be nervous! :grouphug:

Hey Ting! I must say, I am sort of disapointed now too with my fill. Not feeling much restriction any more. Someone told me to wait till morning and I will have some then, but it IS morning and I am getting liquids down fine. I did try to chug some of my Protein drink as a test, and I noticed a LITTLE back up. I suppose we need to be patient until we are on real food, because liquids probably don't get much restriction. Once we try food hopefully it will kick it up a notch! *crossing fingers*

Hiya! My name is Sarah and I just celebrated my 26th birthday Friday! I am getting my band on the 31st of this month and I am VERY anxious and excited. It has been a long long haul for me and to finally be able to count down the days on 2 hands is amazing! Good luck to everyone!

Hey guys, I was reading though this thread as I too have hopes of becoming prego in the (not-so-near) future. (I suppose I need proper suitor first, lol) I have had PCOS my entire life, including very irregular/absent periods. Just curious if anyone has had similar PCOS issues, and if they disapeared after weight loss, and how easy it was to get pregnant?

I'm getting banded in a month or so. The more anxious and excited I get as the surgery draws near, I also notice a deep fear perpetuating about the possibility of dying on the table! I feel morbid and strange, but I can't help but worry that once I get put under I won't wake up! Did anyone else have this fear? Can anyone calm me down a bit? :help:

Thank you all so much for your inspirational words. Hard to believe when I wrote that I thought I would be a month out from surgery! As of today I have yet to be banded but January 31 is the BIG DAY! :cheer2: I seemed to have gotten over some of that initial fear, and have managed to find a great network of people experiencing the same things I am, thanks to this wonderful site. I will update you all after surgery. Woo Hoo! 25 days!

:help:I have had NOTHING but trouble with the Oregon Weight Loss Center. Anyone know of any doctors that will not put me through the ringer? I am self pay and STILL have not had surgery and the entire process has been almost 3 months. HELP!

Hi! I'm new to this site and I'm going to be banded within the next month. I have done all my pre-op exams and tests and now i'm waiting to schedule sugery! I'm anxious and nervous and excited all at the same time. I've even started having dreams about the surgery and life after! I'm 25 and have been overweight my entire life, except for a brief 2 years in high school in which I starved myself to fit into social pressures. I ended up addicted to diet pills, and gained the weight back 10-fold. After years of the diet roller-coaster, my parents suggested I look into the lap band procedure, and well, here I am! I'm looking to talk to some people who have a similar situation as me, or just someone who can listen to me vent occiasionally. I look forward to the journey with all of you!

marieze- Thanks for the info! I had my entire strew of appointments on 10/10, and did my sleep study 11/2, so you can imagine I'm a little frustrated that I haven't heard from OWLS about my pre-surgical consult. I don't know about you but I've had a heck of a time with OWLS/SWMC. I actually lived in Lake Oswego my early teens and high school, I went to Lakeridge! Thanks for the info, KIT.

I live in SE Portland Marieze. I too have finished all the appointments and sleep study, and I'm wating to schedule my pre-surgery consult. I originally requested Emma Patterson but I really don't have a preference as far as what surgeon. I may go to Dr. Jay Jan, as he may be available before Emma. I'm getting my surgery done at Southwest Washington Med. Center because I am self pay and I'm saving like 5K by doing it there. When did you finish all your pre-op appointments? I'm surprised you have to wait till the end of Dec. just for your consult. That makes me think I am further out that I thought. :scared: Are you self pay, or is insurance paying for it?

I'm getting ready for surgery with him as well. I think it should be the first week of December sometime. Have you already had your pre-surgery consult? What did that entail if so? Good luck to you!
