Well I think a happy dance is in order! Congratulations.

18 Month Check-in with my PCP

Congratulations! You have done well! I always like reading your posts. You are an inspiration.

    Face Blindness

Well, that was interesting! I had 93%. Maybe that's why everywhere I go I think I see somebody I've seen or met before.

This made me totally laugh out loud...

Hmmm- amusing but so true! I agree it should be posted when needed during a contentious thread.
  5. @@Kindle, Great list! I am intrigued by the cottage cheese/ muscle milk idea. I will have to look that one up.
  6. Wonderful onederland! Congratulations on on your weight loss and even more so, your NSV's!

@@Nurse_Lenora, Whew, that's over! Now it begins!

We have reached the 50 yard line...

    You have done well! Congratulations.
  9. I absolutely love my caramel and chocolate calcium chews. I didn't start them until eight weeks after surgery and had read about them on this forum ( threw out a few really awful ones). I have two of them mid-morning and look forward to them every day. I only have the two and I am not tempted to have more. You will be surprised at what happens to your tastes and your ability to say no to certain foods after surgery.

    Vacation sucks

@@Kindle, Unimaginable! I thought there was a new regulation that the airlines could no longer keep you on the tarmack that long without letting you off the plane? Sorry you are off to such a maddening start to your vacation.
  11. There is nothing like a grateful heart for a healthy attitude. Congratulations on your weight loss so far!
  12. @@BigViffer, I have not seen this- very clever! Do I ever feel like that? Maybe?

    I said "No Way"!

@@Djmohr, I am so jealous! Well done!! I think I am still a 10? Not sure as I haven't shopped for a while. I'd love to have an experience like yours..........did I say I am so jealous! Well deserved NSV!

OK Ladies, kinda embarrasing question for you all

No request to shave, no catheter. I did request a pad and their smurf underwear, since back then I sometimes couldn't make it to the bathroom if I had to go really badly. Which incidentally has resolved since losing weight.

    Onederland!?

    Ahhhh- wonderful onederland, congratulations!

    All Of Me. Wow.

I hated this documentary. I couldn't relate to the women ( except perhaps the one who had surgery and lost a lot of weight and was working hard at it). I thought those women were disgusting and most of their lives depressing and pathetic. Hmmmm am I being too harsh? I just cannot find any sympathy, and usually I am not that unfeeling. I was relieved when it was finished.

    Exercise and Plateaus

@@Inner Surfer Girl, Thanks for the link to the article. Made me think I might want to change up my routine a little.

    "Exercising" your self control

@@Kindle, Good post! I agree with exposing your self to different "food situations". I have seldom gone to a restaurant and not been able to find something I am comfortable eating that still focuses on Protein ( usually on the appetizer menu). It does get easier and less intimidating as you try new experiences, and as @Babbs mentioned the initial stages are the most daunting.

    Tai Chi

I used to do Sun(sp?) style Tai Chi at the local YMCA. I liked it but it took me a while to learn and remember all the moves. They disbanded for summer and I didn't go back in the fall. I wonder how long it would take me to "relearn"?

    A Victory.

My nerves kicked in after I started the testing process for the surgery, after my first meeting with the Bariatrician. I was remarkably calm when I went in for surgery. I also went through HealthEast and had a very good experience. They prepare you well for surgery and have very good follow up care. St. Joseph's Hospital has great nurses who know what they are doing with your post surgical/ recovery care. I had no complications, no post surgery gas, minimal pain. I felt pretty "normal" after about five days. You are in good hands.

Travel a few months following surgery

I agree with the posts regarding Protein bars. If there is a certain type you like be sure to bring some along. When traveling in Europe recently I made sure I always had one in my purse, they came in handy when we were busy and people stopped for Snacks. We all know there's not much for us in the snack aisle! Have your surgery as planned, you will be fine - and have fun !
