  1. I do not post here much but I am a frequent lurker and reader. I was sleeved on September 12, 2014. So I am a little over six months out. I am down 105 pounds. I am 15 pounds way from my goal of 215. I am pretty comfortable with my eating plan. I cheat occasionally but not often. My activity level has increased significantly over the last several months. I am hoping to reach my goal by June. Here are a couple of before and after pics.
  2. I was sleeved on September 12. I cannot believe it has been six months already. Well, things continue to go well. I started out at 335. As of this morning I am at 231.2 for a total loss of 103.8. 17 pounds to go to reach my goal if 215. My losses have slowed significantly over the last couple of months. I am still steadily losing, though. I hope to reach my goal by May 23 which is the day we leave for a vacation in Costa Rica. I think I have a shot to do it. My life has changed significantly since my surgery. My day no longer revolves around where and what I am going to eat. I plan my meals and usually stick with the plan. I average around 1100 calories a day. I do exceed that on occasion. I did enjoy some girl scout Cookies recently (Samoas). They were awesome and I do not regret it! I meet with a personal trainer three days a week. I can't say that I love it but I have definitely seen the benefits of it. I also just took up tennis and like it so far. I was able to ditch my cpap as my sleep apnea has resolved. No more snoring! My wife is extremely happy about that. In general, I feel great. Getting the sleeve was one of the smarter things I've done in my life. I wish I had done it sooner. No pictures yet. I'm not going to post any until I hit my goal. Good luck and have a great day!
  3. Thenewnic, yep. I like Dr. Hart too. I had mine at the surgery center. Overall it was a very good experience.
  4. I had the same repair done during my surgery. I experienced no symptoms from the hernia before or after the repair.
  5. I am a little over nine weeks out and am officially down 60 pounds as of this morning. That is half way to my goal weight of 215 lbs! 60 more pounds to go. I cant say that the first 60 was easy but it definitely gives me confidence that I will reach my goal. WOOHOO!
  6. I was outpatient. I arrived at hospital at 7 am. I was back home by 1:30 pm. I had no problems whatsoever and was grateful that I got to rest comfortably at home.
  7. I was having a terrible problem with this as well. It was extremely uncomfortable and painful at times. I found a solution that works for me. I now go everyday without any problem. I take two 2 tsp doses of benefiber with Water during the day. I take 1 dose of miralax each night before bed. It took about three days for it to work but since that time it has worked perfectly. Good luck.
  8. Hi. I did the exact same thing. My sleeve was on September 12 and we went to Disney less than a three weeks later. I wont sugar coat it for you. My energy level was a problem. I would completely run out of energy very quickly especially when waiting in line. I did not get a scooter but on the second day my wife went to guest services to see what could be done. They gave me a disability card. This allowed me and my party to check into a ride at the fast pass line and come back at the time for return without waiting in line. This was a life saver for me. So I could check into a ride and then find a comfy spot to sit to wait for the ride time to come. Make sure you stay hydrated while there. Have fun!
