  1. Thank Goodness! Today I heard back from my old Bariatric Center where I had my surgery. I asked them to provide a letter that I could take to my new doctors and insurance company in my new state indicating that having to have the annual blood work is an absolute necessity to ensure proper nutrition post RNY. My lovely new insurance company refuses to pay the $2363.00 bill for said blood work because they used the work Bariatric in the coding. The clinic of course refuses to change the coding so I wrote the check yesterday because they threatened to send it to collections. What BS. Now I am filing with both the insurance company for an appeal and I am filing with the state, thanks to @OKCPirate. Don't know if it will do any good and I will get my money back but it is what it is.

  2. Last two drains are out. 1/2 of the sutures are out. For the first time in over forty years I can see my "lady bits"! Question: When did my "lady bits" turn grey?? I'll blame my surgeon. :)

  3. Thankfully another stall has passed.....happy happy

  4. These last 30Ibs. are so hard to loss!

  5. Just had about 10 vials of blood drawn for pre-op! One step closer...

  6. Well, missed my fluid/protein goals yesterday. Hit a point where I just didn't want to drink anymore. I'm definitely running a fluid deficit and need to re-commit today to get my upper goal in. Am swallowing almost normal now, so there's really no excuse. And I'm SUPER glad I decided to work from home this first week post-op. I'd have had to call in sick today if I'd had to face getting into business dress and doing my hair/makeup. LOL.

  7. Tasting stuff at costco but forgeting about that then having lunch right after ends up in disaster :-( #NeverForget

  8. You know that noise a dog's stomach makes if you forget to feed him? Mine has started making that sound when I DO feed it. I think it's just saying 'thank you'?

  9. I totally stress ate 7 pounds in the last two weeks. Sigh. Yes, you can eat around your sleeve. Now it's time to get back to business.

  10. Felling excited! I got an email from my plastic surgeon today. They took before and after pics of my Brachioplasty. After she and her assistant took a look at them they were so thrilled with the results that they want to use them on their website, in their office and in any presentations she does. I knew they looked great but I am thrilled she is feeling great about them. Yesterday I saw my dermotologist in MN and he wanted to see them as he used to do plastic surgery as well. He was blown away by how great they look and he was especially excited about my scars and how perfect they look. Then I found out they are going to give me a free ultrasonic facial and Botox session just for booking my surgery with them. It was a good day for me!

  12. Hi all. I'm new here and scheduled for RNY on 8/25. Your posts have been so encouraging and helpful. Starting to get a bit overwhelmed and just ready to get it done with already. LOL.

  13. Currently overmedicated and unsupervised. The possibilities are endless. ;)

  14. So last night I didn't get to go to the packer game but hubby brought me a present. It was a tiny little packer jacket that has tiny little arm holes. 4 weeks ago there is no way I would have gotten my big arms into that thing. Today, I slid my new beautiful arms in and there was even room. Hubby said, I knew you would have no problem with this! He got a big hug and kiss from me. What a nice surprise.

  15. 8 months post-surgery, 111 pounds gone, 10 pounds to goal. :-)

  16. Wish my body was as slimmed down as my face, ugh...

  17. It's been so long since I've checked in I must say I'm so proud of all of you you've done a beautiful job! I am down from 310 to 160 13 months out! Hope all of you are doing great

  18. Moved from Obese Class II to Obese Class I this morning! Next stop...just being "overweight," which is 32 pounds away lol

  19. My toes are almost touching Onederland! The scale stubbornly balanced at 200.0 today. I moved it all around the bathroom to try to get it to tip but it refused!

  20. Had a bit of a scare this morning. Woke up and immediately could tell my sugars were low. Checked it - 41. I have never seen it do that before. 3 glucose tablets later and I was back up to 80. I was completely freaked out over it. My doctor is out of town for at least another week so hopefully I can find someone in the office tomorrow.

  21. So, I've proven myself right! I've been eating nuts since I was cleared to do so....but knew it was a slippery slope for me because I love love love nuts. For about 5 weeks eating nuts I averaged about 1.7 pounds lost per week......but I knew I eating too many nuts! This last week I stopped with the nuts and lost 3.2 pounds.....This is good information to have! I need to work on controlling my portion sizes because I don't want to not ever be able to have them.....but I think for now I'll keep myself in "timeout" from nuts for a while....3.2 pounds in a week feels better than nuts taste!!!

  22. When I read of other peoples pre and post non weight loss surgeries and medical problem they have had I am so grateful for the health that I did have despite being obese most of my life. The WLS, hernia repair and gallbladder removal all at the same time was the first surgery I ever had and I am 60 years old.

  23. It's very interesting to me that some people are SO in-tune with their bodies, they just *know* that they will be fine if they hurry through the food stages or drink alcohol early. If I was that in-tune with mine, I never would have needed WLS to begin with. I am SUPER jealous.

  24. Off for some cottage cheese tonight for dinner. Hubby is at the Packer game and his best friend is sitting in my seat. So I will drown my sorrows in cottage cheese with a fresh nectarine. Boo Hoo......

  25. I have walked 23,662 steps today!!!
