What's your "weight loss pet peeve?"
First let me start off by saying I'm am a pretty happy and content girl these days. I'm thrilled with my progress thus far. I wouldn't change not even one thing! Not the good, the bad or the ugly (barium swallow test still ranks pretty ugly, I know simple yet traumatizing all the same) but I've noticed there are a few things that just really drive me crazy. Like, my Aunt who has also had WLS (gastric bypass almost 10 yrs ago). She has gained most all of her weight back. She insist that I send her update pictures via FB messenger and raves about how happy she is for me but then turns around and sends me a picture of a fruit pizza she made with the caption "yummy I bet you wish you had some". What the crap is that?! Is it suppose to be funny? Being as I'm a southern Christian woman and she's my aunt I don't elaborate on where she could fit that pie in her nether regions. I just say oh looks good. Puke. Also my lovely family (kids and husband) always make little remarks like "she's not going to be able to eat more that 5 bites" when ever I talk about cooking something or they make bets on how much I'm going to actually eat. Now, when it comes to them I know they aren't doing it in a mean spirited way they are just a bunch of smart a**'s which unfortunately I can't get too mad over because they got it from me. In fact the other night I had a small piece of tiramisu cake left and I heard them whispering about how they would end up with it because " mom won't be able to eat it all" so after a few bites they were right I couldn't so before they could say anything about wanting it I tossed it on the floor for the dog (see where the a** part comes in?) anyway those things are a few of my pet peeves I've acquired over the last 9 months. Anyone else care to elaborate on some of your own?

My Pre Op Diet Was All I Needed
@@Chuckster Aww well that's good for you chuckie! I'm one of the Absurd ones who is now officially 98 lbs down and medically just as healthy as you if not more so, we should compare lab reports!!! It's good that you were able to lose the weight with your system, I'm happy for you. I wouldn't degrade how other people chose to get healthy (which is technically what your doing) Why do you have a surgery date of March listed? Make sure you come back in another year and let us know how all that's working out for you! I would love to know what material you studied for your information, being as I'm working on my masters for my NP. In all my years of college and nutrition classes I must have missed those books explaining how the MD are so ignorant. I'm sure my surgeon would beg to differ seeing as how he's also one of the top trauma surgeon in our state. Congratulations on your success!

Setting goals - formula vs. bmi
I went by my highest BMI to be in normal range for now. I'm sure I will change it eventually but I'm going by BMI/how I look method!

@ I was prescribed a antacid after surgery that I still take. You should ask your surgeon. Even if it's just tums ask them and see what you can have. I know I couldn't have made it w/o my prescription the first few months,

Hair Loss :(
@@TexasGirl86 Maybe you will be one of the lucky ones? I tried everything 10,000mg of biotin (even before surgery) I got all my protein in within the first two weeks, took all my vitamins, only washed my hair every other day ect... Unfortunately none of that did any good. It still came out but on the bright side I just cut it off and I love it! It's soooo much better than having hair sticking to me! I know it sounds dramatic but it grows back and it's really worth it once the weight comes off. It's like having a baby, it hurts but once you see the results It won't even matter

Is it safe to do a detox/cleanse?
I did a juice detox. It was fine for me. I was having issues with meats so I decided to let my digestive track rest for awhile. I do that periodically with just drinking protein drinks a water for a few days. I think that's why I haven't stalled (that I know of)

Post traumatic stress from being fat
@@bellabloom The goal is to have restriction but not to be in pain, that's not normal or healthy to be in pain every time you eat something. Get it fixed and if you have to put a little more work into it so be it. You can't live your life in pain. Good luck!

Seriously considering getting sleeved
Hello! I am 5'8 and had 0 co-morbs. I did have to have and keep a BMI of 40 due to that fact, throughout my 3 month "diet" phase which was a joke because I had to gain 8 lbs to stay qualified..crazy, but I did it and was approved the first go round. I stayed in the hospital for 2 days. As far as the hair yes, I lost hair from month 3-7ish it happens which is the reason for my lovely new short hair. I can't complain I'm down almost 100 lbs and I like my new hair sooooo whatever, small price to pay. As far as water everything is a work in progress and you can't really rely on having any of the same outcomes as me or anyone else for that matter. It's just a journey you have to take for yourself to see what happens. It's a blast! No regrets!!
