  1. Hello and welcome! I'm not sure what your surgeon considers a post surgery diet? I did a two week liquid diet.
  2. @ I have no clue, I've seen post that were deleted but I'm not sure how. If you just don't want what you wrote seen then go back in and "edit" It makes you type in something so put some dots. Don't let people's opinions get you upset. It's really not worth it. If you have to put the dots to get off of it so be it. The people will look like there talking to themselves (which I assume is what ended up happening anyway ; )
  3. @@dw40 Just get back In the game, watch videos (YouTube) read success stories, look at before and after pictures. You know the same things your probably did all those months ago.
  4. @@champagne301 Oh I understand. The waiting is the hardest part.
  5. @@MamyBeth Hello and welcome!
  6. Congratulations! The only advice I have for pre-op is stay strong, keep the willpower up and remember it's only a short period of time!
  7. @@kcru0626 I don't know if Your route is "normal" but it sounds like it's what your going to get so my advice to you is to write down EVERY single question you have on a list (yes a piece of paper) and Take it with you to both your Surgeon and Nutritionist! I don't care if it's 50 questions you sit there and go over every question/ concern you have! Your surgeon is expecting to do major surgery on you and they haven't given you any office time to ask questions and be prepared so I can see why you would be nervous. It's a crappy system they have set up (if you ask me) I wouldn't let them TOUCH me without having a clear understanding of what to expect and what your suppose to be doing! I know some people can Be intimidated my DRs and if you are DONT BE! Your surgeon is being paid a hearty fee from your insurance company and just like the insurance company expects you to be cleared and ready they expect your surgeon to do his/her part also. Good luck and get to writing!!!
  8. I can't tell you for sure but it sounds like someone may have dropped the ball! BUT, I know when I was going through all this and calling my insurance company the paper work went through a few different departments before it was given to the nurse/Dr who ultimately made the decision so the dates Of when they received my information was different depending on what department I was speaking to so that may be the issue. Important thing is they have it now. I don't know about your insurance but I know (at least here) the insurance Co legally have 30 days to make a decision. Hope you gets an answer soon. I know how aggravating it can be! Good luck! @@champagne301
  9. Congratulations! That's amazing!
  10. Well look at you go!
  11. Premier protien ready made shakes in chocolate! They are the only ones I drink. They sell them at Walmart and SAMs ect..
  12. @@Msnicnic Yay! Congratulations! How exciting huh!
  13. Good luck in pre-op! Stay strong!
  14. I'm a little over 6 weeks and I don't have any issues with anything. I do high protein. For example yesterday; breakfast was 2 egg whites, 1/4 cup of turkey sausage, 1/2 oz cheese and 1/4 of an avocado. " snacks" we're decaf (2)spicy chai tea (with Splenda and 1/2 teaspoon heavy cream), and a premier protein drink. lunch is a premier protein shake. Dinner was half a chicken breast stuffed with 1/2 oz pepper jack cheese and wrapped in turkey bacon. Calories were 715, fat 24 grams, carbs 14.4 , 2.5 grams sugar, 1,148 sodium, and 98 Grams of protein.(3) 160z bottles of water.all together that's 86 oz of fluid. I track EVERYTHING! @@JerzyTomato74
  15. Of course it's possible! I did it for two weeks and I'm still living! I know this may sound aggravating but I didn't find it hard at all. Just make sure your not going to long without something in your tummy. I think it's mainly a lot of will power and mind control just tell yourself you are strong and you can do this! It will be over soon. Good luck! Ps and don't cheat! I think people make it harder by cheating and then it's like starting over...
  16. @@nprcowboy So sorry! I am so glad You are going to see someone else! There is obviously something wrong. I don't have any experience like that to share but I hope they figure this out fast and get you back in shape!
  17. @@Malibucruzer Let your husband cook for himself. I told my husband that he would be responsible for himself and the kids while on my two week pre-op diet. I stayed in my room while they ate. And guess what?! They didn't starve!!! And I made it through my two weeks of liquids without incident !
  18. Unfortunately the weight will come off where ever it wants so start those squats now : )
  19. @@hamitchell Yes that's normal my drain would get anywhere from 80+ cc a day! I was always draining that dang thing! Sometimes it would clear up and come back. As long as it's not bright red or the color of anything you are drinking you should be fine.
  20. @@Gleasonm8602 Ricotta cheese bake is a favorite, just ricotta cheese mixed with one egg and spices of your choice with a thin layer of Marinara sauce on top. Bake 350@25-30 mins. Taste like lasagna minus the noodles! Also refried bean with sour cream, cheese, hummus or Just whatever you prefer on top. I did crab cakes minus the bread crumbs. I think there is a recipe thread floating around here Somewhere....
  21. @@sweetie716 That's good that you are able to get your fluids in. If you can take in more without any issue, pain , ect..then that's great! Don't worry about your restriction at this point, it's just fluids and fluids pass Through the sleeve easier than food will. Keep it up!
  22. Congrats on the date! Yay for a smooth pre-op phase! I didn't mind mine much either. Good luck!
