  1. Hopefully you can get ahold of someone today. I think the prescription med is WAY better!
  2. Wow you typed all that out lol! That was very nice of you.
  3. I take the 20mg Omeprazole also and have not had any issues. I only tak it once in the morning but I have permission to take if twice if needed. Ive Only had to do that twice.
  4. @@ShannonbKSU Is that Pepcid an actual prescription from your surgeon or over the counter?
  5. Welcome! Congrats on the date! Stay strong on the pre-op, it will be over before you know it!
  6. Not GNC unflavored! It's not unflavored yuck! I never did find a good one : ( I know some people like the genpro
  7. That's Awesome that you were able to do all that even if it's under terrifying circumstances. I hope they find the person missing. You be carful out there!
  8. In short, I had my surgery on 11/3. I Was in the hospital for two days, I haven't had any issues really. I have great restriction and no hunger still so I Track all my food to make sure I get all the protein and fluids I need in a day. I still only eat about 800 calories a day max. My carbs are low because of all the protein I may get 12 carbs a day. It's a work in progress. My surgeon would like me to eat 1100-1200 calories and more carbs but I do what I can. I've lost almost 40 lbs now and I feel great. I am also diligent about taking all my vitamins. It's been a smooth (learning) process so far. I went into this knowing that it was going to be quit a change so I try to stay stress free, I took measurements before surgery with my weight, I only weigh once every couple weeks. I try to stay off the scale. I know I'm not "cheating" I eat clean so I just allow my body to do its thing. It took me years to get as big as I was so I figure it's going to take some time to get it off. I've enjoyed the change! I'm still amazed at the fact that I'm not hungry all the time anymore. I love that my life is no longer focused around food constantly. It's been lovely.
  9. @@LipstickLady No I haven't tried that but I have horseradish sauce from my prime rib in the fridge so I may just do that tomarrow.
  10. @@jnfisher It def wouldn't hurt to let your surgeon know what's going on. Being hydrated is Really important so if you can't get fluids in then the Dr should know. If you take the two small sips and wait are you able to get a fair amount in, in a day? What are you drinking? Plain water was really hard for me to get Down in the beginning so I sipped on coconut water (it's a really good hydrator) maybe you can try that?
  11. @@Queen P It very well could be. Thank goodness you have those weeks off! Hope you feel better soon
  12. I second what @@FrankiesGirl said! You should be fine taking a over the counter med until you can get ahold of your surgeon. I know the one time I forgot to take my PPI it was not pleasant. My surgeon has my refills set up for 3 month Increments, maybe yours will do the same?
  13. We did prime rib, and we bought one For the freezer. The only thing I can think of would be deviled eggs...
  14. @@ashly856 Welcome! Carbs are fat soaker-uppers! Bad carbs any way! Just go cold turkey!
  15. @@HMR Thats crazy! Really, no way would I have made it through that! I'm a compliant patient but not that Dang compliant! Why??! Hell to the no!
  16. @@tfarr Ummm because our scrubs are ridiculously expensive maybe!!? I almost want to turn mine into sheets or something! What a (lovely) Waste!
  17. @@Jason In Houston My husband and kids had to go back to school and work after I got home so they set me up a table next to my recliner with everything I needed...meds, heating pad, remote, phone, A big bowl of ice with my isopure ,water, and coconut water in it. I was good until they got back home. Plus it was easier to sit/sleep in my recliner.
  18. Chewables will be your friend! Unless your just talking about medications. A pill crusher will be good, some medications aren't meant to be crushed and I don't know what your taking so ask your DR!
  19. @@BloomingLotus You should be ok. I needed 2 years of a BMI over 40 and the highest it ever was in that two year was 36. I was approved the first time. Good luck!
  20. @@Elizabeth21 My surgeon said the shoulder pain usually starts a few days after surgery. I had some but I punched my arm and it went away instantly (weird I know but it worked!) Disclaimer: I'm not telling YOU to punch your self...I don't want to be held responsible if your family finds you knocked out lol!!!
  21. @@Rtbrewer2 All insurance company's are different so I can't tell you an answer but you should have the insurance companies requirements it depends on what they Say. I would think you should still be ok especially if you Dr says you will be. He/she has probably seen a lot of cases and knows. Good luck!
