  1. finally I am back on this site, now for some consistency. Ari, hope you are feeling better and so sorry I missed you the other day. i also missed the meeting, so can't give you any update. deb
  2. Dr. Trotter is definately a preferred provider for Group Health. Not sure Pennington does lap band. I have a friend that had ruen-y from him and liked him. ?But I do believe Trotter is the true band expert. He is a provider, have your insurance check again. deb
  3. Alynne, I see you have had a lower body lift. What is that? and did insurance pay? thanks, deb
  4. I had my lap band through Dr. Trotter in Spokane. He is wonderful. I do not know if he is contracted. He does surgery mainly at Holy Family, and the Valley in Spokane. We also have a support group on the second Tuesday of the month. would love to have more join us. deb
  5. Have you been to Dr. Trotters orientation meeting on Wed or Fri. That is where you need to go first to get the list of what needs to be done. The orientation meeting is mandatory, the support meeting is not. However, I would highly recommend going to the support meeting also. deb
  6. OK, so what has been going on with everyone. I am looking forward to my next fill, on the 3rd. I have not heard a peep from you Tammy and Ari how was Mexico. Wonderful I hope. So now it is up to you folks since I found this site. With a lot of coaching from my own personal gladiator!! Yeah!
  7. Heidi, You are starting to compete with me for questions. Here goes from memory. The meeting is the second Tuesday of the month, starats at 6 pm at Holy Family Hospital. If you have most of your stuff done or at least scheduled then call Dr. Trotter office and set up an appointment for your consultation. Have all your paperwork done and take in with you. I was banded the 19th of Dec. Have lost 30 pounds. Had my first fill. Was not to big of a deal for me and am anxious for the second fill on the 3rd of March. So I believe the next meeting is the 11th of March. This truly is a tool to help keep you full so you do not eat as much. Is for sure not a magic cure. I am so glad I did this. Is wonderful. Anxious to meet you in March. Deb
  8. Heidi, I had the same problem and cannot elieve the difference a cpap made. now with weight loss i dont use it much anymore, but was a godsend for 2-3 years.
  9. had my first fill yesterday, 3.5 cc. I do feel the restriction this morning. I am also ready to start dropping weight again. Only 2 pounds in the last two weeks. But that is ok, I am 1/4 of the way there. deb
  10. with a BMI of 45, I don't think you have to have co-morbidity. I think you will eventually be able to get it done. You might have to first go through GH nutrition program. Am anxious to hear how it goes. deb
  11. three weeks for me. I heard a lot about Dr. always being late, however his appts have been relatively quick for me. deb
  12. Glad to hear about the appt. With a bmi of 45 you should not have to gain any more weight. Looks to me like you are in a good spot, once you jump through a few hoops. Were are you having the sleep apnea study done. it was a trip for me. All guys and then me. I call it my slumber party. (sarcasm) Had to do it twice because the first time they forgot to do something. Don't plan on the work the day after. I really was tired the next day and glad I didn't have to work. Anxious to hear how it is going. deb
  13. Trixie, I agree about the fill, I am now not staying as full as i did at first so want to get it done. I think this is the best tool I have ever used for losing weight. My Dr. is adament about not doing a fill for 6 weeks, so there will be complete healing. He also says the band will not make you lose the weight. You are the one that has to eat right and exercise. The band isonly the tool to help you. I love it. deb
  14. Betty, what doyou mean your body rejected the band. Is it still in? sounds like you had a horrible time. glad it is better for you now. deb
  15. My appointment went well, great to be on solids, however now I am having problems getting all my protein down. I made a 2 month appt for my fill, but think i will move it up a week. I just started exercising this week. I bought an exercise bike, I am thrilled with it, I have always liked exercise bikes. I agree with you I want to see that weight just fall off, but will be happy with 1-2, more like 2-4 pounds a week. Am excited for the results. deb
