I've had a fun incredible journey since October when I was sleeved. Today has been a nice, boring lazy Sunday. I cleaned out my closet and got rid of all my clothes that are too big. I found brand new shirts, pants, shorts etc that I had never worn. They were 1 and 2 x and up to a size 38 waist.
I ended up having three huge garbage bags full of clothes I can't wear any longer due to size.
I never thought the day would come when I couldn't fit into my XLT shirts. Now they look like a blanket on me.
So that being said, if your starting the journey, put this on your list. It'll make you realize how much progress you have made. As of this morning I'm down a grand total of 69 lbs from October.

And I thought I'd throw this in there too... why in the world does the insurance company want to deny a procedure that has been so successful in helping people lose weight and get healthy?
Certainly paying for heart medication, high blood pressure medication, diabetes mediation, sleep apna medication and more would be more expensive in the long run than just paying for the surgery. . I just don't understand why they provide no options what so ever. I even had asked BCBS about weight loss surgery and the lady politely said that its not the insurance companies fault I'm overweight. grrrr

This made me realize I needed to upload some pictures. I'm not very photogenic and I don't see much of a difference, but I know its there. The wedding picture was taken in August. The small drivers license pic was taken in April of 14. The rest are all afters.

Yep. I just keep thinking what I could do with that extra $300 a month I'm paying. I don't agree with the way it works but that's another issue. I don't get any tax credit or subsidy. I make it a point to go to the Doctor now for every single ache and pain. I feel like I need to get use out of that policy I'm paying for each month. On a side note, I did manage to get my vehicle insurance down from $7900 a year to $1600 and I lowered my deductibles.
It's now the law that we have health insurance, it should also be the law that they cover EVERYTHING not just what they want. Just my opinion.
Also, I checked into buying health insurance for my company and thought it would save me money. Nope. From what I understand, the employer pays a percentage of the claims filed. I'd never open myself up to a liability like that.

I got into a bad habit of grazing and thankfully I didn't gain any weight. I just hit a big ole stall.
I joined Planet Fitness and have been going for an hour everyday.
Prior to going to the gym, I could graze all day long and eat a good bit. (probably why I stalled)
After joining the gym, I noticed my appetite went down big time. I also stopped grazing and went to eating 5 meals a day. I usually eat oatmeal for Breakfast, a Protein shake for lunch, then a cheese stick as a snack, then for dinner Ill eat a salad with chicken and broccoli and cheese. Yes, I'm that boring with food. I can't even finish dinner and I'm making small portions.
So what I'm finding is I'm not nearly as hungry now and I can only eat maybe 5 ounces total. I can't even graze which is a good thing.
The weight is moving again. 7 lbs in the last 10 days. Size 34's fall off me now and I can fit into a 32 but they are tight on me.
Is this normal to go from grazing to not hungry and dropping weight again?

I sucked it up and joined a gym. I'm scared of gaining the weight back. This week my pants were really tight... and I felt so depressed... I couldn't understand why they were so tight... I jumped to the worst possible conclusion... I had already gained back all that weight...nope... I didn't look and I had grabbed my husbands pants which are a size 32... and while they were tight I could still fit into them. I didn't know they were his until I got home from work and he said, why are you wearing my pants... then it was followed with OMG those are my pants and you can wear them.
Def. google the 5 day pouch.

It's normal to be scared and have second thoughts, but remember that if you do back out, you will likely have regret for not going through with it.
I agree with the person who said keeping the weight off is the issue.
Since my surgery in October, I am down 56 lbs and have already met my goal weight without trying too hard.
The Surgery isn't long and is very simple. To tell you how simple, I went to Mexico to get my surgery done. I flew out on Tuesday, Surgery on Wednesday and back home on Friday. I returned to work that Monday with no problems. I remember laying on the bed, he said okay I'm putting the sleepy stuff in and then I woke up and was walking within 15 minutes of waking up. I had a lot of doubts and fears, but I was determined to change my life for the best. Also, I went to Mexico by myself, with no one else with me. I now look back and think about how stupid that was... there could have been a lot of what if's... but they were only fears.
Think of how much better you will feel, how much more energy you will have and also, how much longer you'll live being healthier.
In the end, it comes down to what do you want?
Also, I was on this very forum posting right after my surgery. It really is a simple surgery. I encourage you to go through with it if you've come this far and its tomorrow.

I'm throwing this in there for comical purposes... we didn't say anything about the size of the 1 cookie did we? I mean, what if it was a gigantic large cookie and it did fill her up?

As its been said on this forum, the Gastric Sleeve is simply a tool to help you lose weight. You still have to watch what you eat and exercise.
This is a sad story but I hope it doesn't discourage anyone from getting gastric surgery of any sort. I hope more and more people continue to get it and hopefully we can get back on track and be as healthy a possible.

pinkbunies got a reaction from BLERDgirl in What exercise routine do you recommend it's to cold to walk outside?
I like to go at those times because the gym isn't too busy. One thing that I just laugh so hard about now is the first night we went, the parking lot was full and we kept driving around for about 10 minutes looking for a parking spot that was really close. I then said... why are we joining a gym to walk on a treadmill and trying to park so close? And I wasn't the only one doing this, others were driving around even longer. Finally I parked as far away as we could. I usually do this because we have a new truck and I'm OCD about people dinging their doors into my truck.
They had plenty of spots, they just were not right by the door.

Well think of it this way... if you have been a good girl and you've stuck to the plan, you can reward yourself. If not, you can also say screw it and still eat that cookie, or you could have extreme will power and reject it altogether.
Personally I usually try to eat some greek yogurt or drink a Protein shake. I still sneak in some chocolate everyday.
One week I ate frozen custard every night and lost 9 lbs. I don't encourage anyone to try this, it is so tempting to forget the new healthy eating habits.
