  1. Yes.. sorry if I confused anyone.
  2. Oh.. I haven't had two bands. I just had the Fluid removed and it repositioned its self the first time. Then after I had a couple of fills it slipped again, and has been going downhill ever since. I appreciate all of the opinions.. it helps to talk to people who know what i am going through.
  3. Yes.. my insurance would pay for all of it.. but my copay and the 1,100 revision fee the surgeon charges..
  4. I have thought about the sleeve.. my insurance doesn't cover it, and I just don't have the money to pay for it myself. I am not sure about the stitching and such.. but I did discuss just having another band put in. My Dr. says this slip is so bad.. that a new band would probably just do the same. I don't know if I belive that theory... I like my surgeon.. it's Dr. Barker btw.. all I know is the pain I go through daily is not worth it.. in reality I am just afraid I will have just as many problems with the bypass.
  5. Just wanting other peoples opinions in my situation. I had my lap-band put in back in November of 07' I have lost over 100 pounds with it, and was doing really well until it slipped. Had all fluid removed in Nov. Of 08' then had more fills only to have it slip even worse. I have no fluid in my band whatsoever.. yet I still vomit almost daily. somedays i have trouble with even liquids. My esophagus is in such pain.. it has spasms.. i don't know from day to day if I will even be able to eat.. it's a misrable way to live. I am scheduled for removal on Feb. 22 and my doctor is trying deperately to talk me into gastric bypass. I don't want to have it done, I feel that it is just to drastic of a procedure for me when I only a few pounds to loose and no serious medical issues. I feel in my heart I am not the same person I was two years ago.. this has been such a crazy journey with no regrets. I know I run the risk of gaining weight when the band is removed.. but I know I have the will power to do it on my own... there is NO WAY i will ever let myself get fat again. I have had a taste of this life and I will never go back to my old ways.. I don't even miss them.. However I would love to be able to eat a big fat salad! Is there anyone else out there in this situation?? I am so torn!
  6. I hate when people ask aren't you afraid of your skin sagging? That's the least of my worries! I'd trade being overweight and unhealthy for a little saggy skin anyday! I know exactly how you feel SpecialK about shopping... even though I don't have to shop in the plus sizes anymore, that's the first place I head in a store. It's really mental I guess. Everyone else tells me how great I look, and that I am getting so thin, but all I see is how much more I have to loose!
  7. Here's a pic of mine!
  8. So I went to the doctor today.. I didn't realize that there were different sized bands..(I'm a dork) I have been seeing posts on here with people saying they have like 8cc in theirs I can't imagine because I only have like 3 in mine and I have been having problems since my last fill! I found out that I only have a 4cc band and it was too tight. My doctor took out 1cc and I was able to eat for the first time in weeks without getting sick! now I am just going to keep my fingers crossed that I still loose and don't gain!!!
  9. You're not a baby! Everyone's bodies handle pain different. I did alright, I had my surgery on Thursday, and went back to work on Monday just fine.. I was still a bit sore, but nothing unbearable. I expected a lot worse. The gas pains were the only thing that killed me! lol.. Hope you feel better, and good job with the 11 pounds.. it just keeps getting better.. before you know it you'll be like wow who's that person in the mirror! it's a great feeling.
  10. Thanks Terri I will try just liquids.. And the warm drinks do help! Thank goodness for coffee!
  11. I already had 3 before I got my surgery.. 2 of them being pretty large. When I lost 85 pounds I got a pin-up girl on my back to celebrate! I have lost 124 now, with about 52 or so to go.. so when all is said and done I am absolutely getting something amazing I just don't know what or where I am putting it!
  12. I totally understand. I am not so much embarrassed by it, but I do hate being the center of attention and such. I mean yes I am thankful I have lost so much weight.. and I realize that I was huge before etc.. but for once I would just like to have normal conversations with people without it being about my weight loss!
  13. I hope so too Misty.. this is so frustrating!
  14. It's PBing It's like everything gets stuck, and just comes back up. I did go to the doctor.. and he did an x-ray to make sure it hadn't slipped. I am going to call first thing tomorrow and maybe they can sqeeze me in on Tuesday.
  15. I was just wondering if anyone else has had trouble keeping food down?? I had my surgery last november and have had no problems until now! About 3 weeks ago i began throwing up almost everything I eat. Sometimes I can't even keep liquids down. I went to my doctor last week because I was worried, and thought my band may have slipped or something. He has assured me that it hasn't. I am afraid that I am going to get sick because I am not getting enough nutrients. He didn't seemed too worried about it, and I am frustrated!!! Would getting an unfill help?? I have only had 3 fills total.. my last one was over 2 months ago.. I am just worried about gaining weight back. I have worked so hard, and done so well. Any help would be awesome! Thanks
