    Dining out post op

I go out to eat once in a while and order salads, chicken, fish and vegetables and a baked potato. When I can I order from the senior menu, I’m 56, so that works sometime if they have one. I also order from the children’s menu, especially at breakfast.
  2. I find that at almost for years out I have to have three meals and two to three snacks to make calories and protein goals.
  3. I too had gastric and an ulcer due to too much Advil. Plus I have reflux. I stopped Advil went on reflux meds, put the head of my bed up and went on to have a successful sleeve.

Side Effects of Gastric Sleeve Surgery?

I used Miralax regularly and fiber pills and prunes. Prunes worked the best. You have to use any of these regularly before you see results.
  6. I usually order from the children’s or senior menu.
  7. I had to have lovenox in the hospital and then had to give myself lovenox injections twice a day for ten days, I think. It could have been five day, surgery was three years ago.

    Slow metabolism?

Are you measuring your food and portions? I didn’t think I ate that much salad until I realized my portions were out of whack.
  9. I am three and a half years out and still very happy with my decision. Like anything else weight loss surgery and the resulting weight loss is a process. You have to work at it and make a commitment

    Down 52 lbs and holding

Hi, everyone seems to lose weight at their own pace. I was a slow loser, but lost 100 pounds in a year around 30 before surgery and 70 afterwards. Have patience, keep to the program. Don’t get discouraged. You can do it.
  13. Three and a half years out. Consistent 100 pound loss after year one

    What happens if you overeat?

When I was first sleeved eight weeks out or so I had pork for the first time. I didn’t chew it enough and then 1/2 hour later drank water. I was sick, stomach pains, foaming, vomiting. It’s happened a couple of times. You will remember.

What Post-Sleeve Rules Do You Break?

Before I lost weight my diet was pretty healthy, just too much food. There are a few things that are trigger foods for me for sure, so I don’t eat cookies or chips . Except the occasional cookie at work. I do eat pasta, and potato. I eat brown rice and other whole grains including English muffin. My carbohydrates are around 100 grams and proteins are 60 grams-80 grams and calories average 1200. I’m three years out and a consistent 100 calories down. After the first year vigilance is good, but it should be a life style at this point, not a diet. I still

    Naughty days?

I’m three years out and this time of year is difficult, so I go with it. I eat things that I don’t normally eat and then when it’s over I go back to my normal eating habits. I’ve kept 100 pounds off for three years, so it seems to work for me. Don’t beat yourselves up for getting off the wagon, it’s not a short journey it’s life long changes.
  18. I’m sorry that you’re having a difficult time. Hang in there.

    Family at hospital?

The support is nice especially pre-op. I could have cared less in recovery . I spent almost three days in so visitors were nice.

    Weight Regain After Gastric Sleeve

I find it easier to hold myself accountable if I weigh myself daily. That said, if I do miss a day I don’t panic.

    Weight Regain After Gastric Sleeve

I’m in my third year as well and it is definitely a struggle. After the holidays I am definitely getting back on track. That being said, I haven’t really gained weight yet, but it’s been a five pound yo-yo. I weigh myself daily and that helps.
  23. I gained while going through the process and had to lose what I had gained. When I did The process went ahead.
