About Me

I recently stumbled upon this site on amazon when I was shopping for isopure. (Preop protein drink prior sleeve surgery) A little about me. I originally had lap band surgery in 2006. I was so depressed. Having back surgery in 2001-- I put on so much weight. At the time of my lap band surgery my weight was 292 lbs. The surgery was a success. Over the next several years I was able to get to my lowest weight of 204 lbs. I was so happy. Throughout the years I would fluctuate between 210 and 230. I had a lot of problems with the band. Even with the adjustments things just weren't right. I had obstruction's even over some of the softest foods. I started throwing up a lot and eventually went to a new bariatric dr. I found put that i have a hyiatial hernia in my esophagus along with gall stones. So that being said the lap band has to come out, along with my gall bladder and hyiatial hernia has to be repaired. I have come to a decision of careful consideration that i want to have the sleeve done. I do not want to go back to intense hunger pains only to gain my weight back. That is my biggest fear. I will be 40 next years with 2.5 yr old twins. In line to have knee surgery once i can lose the additional weight. I want to be healthy and be the best parent I can. I want to be able to show them the correct way to eat responsible and healthy. The reason for joining this group is to be part of a support group and truly have people understand the struggles of a bariatric patient. This is a life change so if you are consider or in need of a revision such as my self. Please do your research. This is not a "Get out of jail fat free card". This is something you must work at everyday with every decision you make when you prepare your meals pr out to dinner or lunch. This is ultimately your story. You have to write the book. You are the one that will determine how the story goes. Good luck. :-)
