  1. Day 2 of the pre-op!! Its not THAT bad...but it's NOT THAT good either!!! Haven't had any real cravings for anything. Trying to get myself motivated and go join a gym. My feet, knees, and back are begging me not to do it just yet!!!

i'm on day 3... i was doing great until today! my family wanted me to cook so i made a meat loaf, corn and seasoned potatoes... i didn't eat any but the smells of it were pure torture.

i can honestly say, i'm not hungry but... with that being said, i also cant be around food. as long as i'm away, i'm good.

      good luck!

  2. I would like to pose this question in the forum and by asking this am I no means trying to judge anyone as I am just curious. I have answered alot of heated questions from my family and friends about my goal weight and where I want to be in life. I am 6' tall..... i currently weigh 329.6 lbs which puts my BMI at 44.7. My goal weight, I set for 180 which puts my BMI @ 24.4 or right at the top of the "normal" catagory. Everyone keeps telling me "oh you should stop at 225....you looked so good then". Sure 225 looks better than 325....but it's still 45-50 lbs overweight and not healthy......so My question is why would a person set their goal weight that still leaves them in the obese catagory??

  5. I'd rather eat a salad than have a lean cuisine....YUK!! Im doing 2 Protein shakes and a salad for 11 days then doing a cleanse/flush and then Clear liquids for the final 3 days before surgery. the 2 shakes and salad is cool.....I'm dreading the clear liquid diet tho!!

    Goal weight is still overweight!?!?!?

@Momohime.......your co-workers say that because they are used to seeing you heavy....not at the appropriate weight for your height. CONGRATS on the 110 gone!!!!

October sleevers.. Where is everyone from

Imaher718, once you mix it with something it tastes pretty good....better than the powder IMO. I have been mixing mine with almond milk and a half cup of frozen fruit to make a smoothie OR with flavored crystal light

    Goal weight is still overweight!?!?!?

@Cynthiarm2000.......Thank you!!! Finally someone is looking at the same big picture as I am!!!! I havent weighed 180 in 30 years!!! Will I look as good now as I did then.......probably not!!! But I am not doing it to look good , style and profile. I doing it to add some years onto my life. I have diabetes and heart issues,(those are the 2 biggest) Im not ready to die in the next 5 yrs or so. I wanna see my kids get married and have kids!!

October sleevers.. Where is everyone from

Carnation Instant breakfast doesnt have alot of Protein in it (only 5 grams per package according to the side of the box). New whey has a liquid Protein in different flavors that has 42 grams of protein that you can add to cold Water or almond milk and many of the other protein powders have 20-30 grams of protein per scoop.

Twirpo75, I am NOT a big vanilla Protein powder fan either......HOWEVER, I mixed it with almond milk and added a half cup of frozen pineapple and half cup of frozen peaches and blended it all together. It made a HELL of a smoothie!!!! And I as sipped on it.....I said damn all I need is a little rum and an umbrella in the drink and be by the ocean and I have got it made in the shade!!!!! LOL :-)

    Eating after surgery

it amazes me how every doctor is different in how he wants his patient to progress and lose weight. With my doctor, I am on a clear liquid diet for the first 1-2 weeks, then a full liquid diet for the next 2-3 weeks or LONGER IF I CHOOSE. I am in NO rush to get back to eating food because food is what got me in the boat I'm in today......and pureed food doesnt even sound good......I think I'd rather eat baby food. Good luck auntiemel!!!

    Unflavored protein powder?

Try mixing the unflavored Protein powder in with 12-16 oz of chicken, beef , or vegetable broth/stock and drink it like you would a shake.........its not the greatest but it is doable

    Vegan & WLS

Chicabo, how many grams of Protein does your doctor want you to have?? New whey makes a liquid Protein that comes in a 3.8 oz bottle that has 42 grams of protein, 2 carbs, and NO sugars. Mix it with a liter of Water and sip on it all day long. Then have a powder Protein shake in the morning and one in the evening and boom u got 82-87 grams of protein!!! GOOD LUCK ON YOUR JOURNEY!!!!!

    2. Bandora

      Bandora

Ha ha ! It was sad for me to bid adieu to Dr. Pepper. That was my breakup . It all passes in time and you won't miss her a bit

  17. Lauriep, I hear what you are saying....but the number that they give you is just an average. Individual weight loss depends on the individual. I know people who havent changed their lifestyle habits of eating.......just how much they eat and they don't exercise yet....they lose about that about 75% of their excess weight. Next thing you know....they are whining cuz they didnt lose as much as they wanted. So my question to you is.....how bad do you want it? Are you gonna work your butt off in the gym and follow the nutritionalists advice and guidelines or will you be like the millions who just cant wait to get back on "real solid food" and only have a minimal weight loss?? All I can do is speak for myself......Im paying for this surgery out of my pocket, so I look at it differently. I am gonna stay on the liquid Protein diet take my Vitamins and exercise religiously until i lose the majority of what I wanna lose. Hope this helps. Good luck in your decision and in life!!

    TIME OFF

I am curious to know from everyone.........How long did you take off from work after being sleeved?? I am a student in college and if I miss 4 classes......I am out...PERIOD!!! No questions, no return to school slips, no nothing. If I have my surgery on Thursday....could I go back to class that following Thursday?? I know that everyone's results are different.......just curious to hear them. THANKS!!!!
  19. Congrats to you JRob04!!! I am having mine on Oct 30. What part of Texas are you from?
  20. KMCarlson.....we won't hold it against you that you are a Bears' fan
  21. ArtDLG, the reason for the liquid diet is that it makes your liver smaller and your liver sits on top of your stomach (thats what I am told) I start mine Thursday and I can have 3 Protein shakes and a BIG salad with some no fat dressing on it. Then 3 days before do a cleanse, then start a 3 day CLEAR liquid diet. Its not about losing weight its about getting your stomach as empty as possible before surgery........afterall..... they are about to remove 85% of it

  24. I heard this tonight from someone and I thought that I would share it. What I definitely won't miss is a woman telling me that I "would be such a good looking man if I just lost some weight". Well tonight it really rubbed me the wrong way.....and I said, " ya know, I'm handsome now and in 6 months I WILL BE SKINNY and in shape and you will still be a bitch!!!"
  25. Luckyone5......i was scheduled for Dec 15....but pushed my date up to Oct 30........and I may even jeopardize this semester of school if I miss too many days....but I feel like it's something I gotta do now
