    Constipation

I dealt with severe constipation post surgery and for some time like three or more months. I tried all the tricks with adding colase, miraliax, laxatives. What eventually worked for me was Amatiza which is for IBS with Constipation. That along with increasing my fluid intake did the trick. At about 6 months I became regular. I attribute some to dehydration but not 100%.

    Drinking normally?

I am two years post op and found for me that the volume depends on what I am using to drink the water. I am currently using a Hydro Flask with the sports top. I can take pretty big swigs without problems. If I drink to fast I do feel it and if I manage to get some air when drinking I feel it. I end up burping. I work out pretty regularly doing HIIT and am able to properly rehydrate myself.
  4. I started my journey back in October 2014 and am approaching my two year surgiversary. Highest weight was 302. Surgery weight 280 and current weight 180. For the past few years I have been taking headshots monthly here are a few of them

    DOES EVERYONE LOG?

October will be my 2 year surgiversary. I have been logging in MFP even before the surgery. I believe I have a streak of 635 days consistent logging and plan to continue logging my meals. This is something that has become a part of my life\routine and keeps me in check.
  7. Thanks for the details. I have been extremely consistent on logging my food on MFP over 600 day streak so far. I will look into the fitbit blaze. As I write this reply I am eating a large Apple with 2 tbs of Peanut Butter. Good luck on your full marathon, I hope to be there some day. I really enjoy the running portion of the session. I will keep this thread updated with my results.
  8. For the past 6 months I have been moderately working out at OrangeTheory three times a week, which is a High Intensity Interval training Session 1 hour long. They track your heart rate during the session and provide you with a grid showing what zone you are in based on your heart rate. During a typical session it estimates that I burn from 800 to 900 calories. My question is that I am in Maintenance mode and eating 1800 calories a day and 2000 on the days I work out. I am on the low side of my range at 182 this morning and don't want to go down much more. How has anyone adjusted their caloric intake and how much to offset the calories lost during the workout? I know that you should not eat the calories lost but I feel that there should be some increase in caloric intake. I am afraid of gaining weight by increasing my calories. Even if I up my calories, I can't see how to as I am already eating 5 meals a day. On the work out days I add a Protein bar and banana post workout. Any feedback would be great. Thanks and I look forward to some feedback and input.

    Constipation

I was sleeved back in October 2014 and dealt with constipation real bad for close to six months. I tried many over the counter remedies which helped a little bit but still was extreme. After consulting with my surgeon he prescribed me Amatiza which helped. As soon as I started incorporating high fiber into my diet, things started moving. To this day I eat a bag of Alive and radiant Kale chips every day and this seems to keep me regular.
  10. The other day I was discussing BMI with a co worker who is 6' 2'' and 200 lbs. I am 5' 10'' and 187. I told him to consider that I am big boned. He looked at me like I was crazy. That was the old me talking. At 14 months post op, I still don't see myself at the size I am currently at. I have been told that this takes time for the Brain to catch up with the body. Awesome on the compliment.
  11. I am 14 months post op and still have my coffee shake as a mid morning snack. If you like coffee check out Chike Nutrition High Protein Iced coffee. https://chikenutrition.com/ I order it from Amazon. A bit expensive but a treat I look forward to each day.
  12. Heavenly :-) They did a great job with these bars. I like the sea salt caramel ones the best.
  13. I found some great ice cream bars called enlighten. http://www.eatenlightened.com/ check them out.
