  1. I was sleeved 3/16/15 and life has been great so far. I'm about 40lbs from goal and couldn't be happier. I am scheduled for a laparoscopic hysterectomy in a few weeks and I'm trying to research and prepare. Unfortunately I haven't found anyone who has had sleeve then hysterectomy. Many have had the reverse. I'm looking for personal experience as life after sleeve is slightly different. Recovery, appetite, energy levels, etc. Any help would be appreciated!
  2. I had my surgery two months ago and I agree, the hysterectomy was much easier than the sleeve. My only concern is the 8lbs I gained but I'm clear for exercise so it's on.
  3. Bumping to see if anyone can answer a few questions...

    I want salad please!

Right. I never eat iceburg. I try to use the most nutrient rich greens I can find. I don't use much as I'm focused on protein but I've been adding a bit every other day. That little bit of fiber is making a difference! @@BLERDgirl that dressing sounds awesome!

    I want salad please!

My NUT said salad was fine once I moved to solids at 4 weeks. I've had it a few times with no issues but of course stick to what your team recommends.
  7. Thursday is my day. I want sushi! Just 1 piece of a no rice roll! Can't wait! Lol

    African American vsgers!

Hope everyone is doing well. Sleeved 3/16 and down about 30lbs. The first places I've lost are in my face and boobs. I'm down from a 22 and into a 20 pushing an 18 already so I guess I've lost inches. I had to stop weighing daily so no measurements or scale until Monday. I actually spoke with a plastic surgeon Tuesday unintentionally. Friend is having a tummy tuck by the doc most recommended for bariatruc patients. He wants me to come in asap so he can start documenting my progress. He said he gets 70% of his post bariatric procedures covered by insurance! He also said it will allow him to see how I'm losing which will lead to better outcomes. Crazy, huh?

Man did u have to pay!

I don't think the little watermelon juice will have any lasting harm. Just don't do it again. Each doc has different guidelines so get back to your doc's requirements and you'll be fine. @@PJO your program seems very restrictive. I'm right at 4 weeks and will be adding juice and fruit in a few days. I've had carbs (very tiny amounts) and I'm still losing.

Your own insurance is always primary for you. Your husband's would be secondary for you, primary for him.

    ANXIETY MEDS

I've had a script for anxiety meds for years. I take them maybe twice a year. There are many different meds depending on your type of anxiety that can help in conjunction with therapies. My problem is mostly with one scenario and unfortunately not one I can write or crochet away. But there are other methods. Get a good therapist and work with them on coping activities like @@CanyonBaby said. Ask you doc about other medications. Good luck!
  14. Right. Before approval they always told me to leave my shoes on. Lol

Yep makes sense. I've always had breakfast issues (skipping, missing) so I know part of my instructions were also for behavior modification.
  16. I can only take the kids multi vitamin. All others make me sick.

    Devil Eggs

@@LipstickLady that sounds divine! I've looked at that sriracha mayo a few times but I'll pick some up. I miss sushi.
  18. I take Flintstones Kids chewables for my multi and Nacobal provides the rest for a $25 copay through my insurance. I use protein powders from Target and Walmart.
  19. First it depends on the plan your insurer selected. I work for one of the largest insurance companies and it's not covered for us under any circumstance though we cover it for most other companies. My husband's company covers it 100%. When I started they only required either a BMI of 40 or greater with no co-morbidities or 35 with at least one co-morbidity. At the time they only required 1 NUT visit but that changed as of Jan 1. If your company does not specifically exclude WLS you should be fine.
  20. 3 weeks out. 2 of my incisions are nearly non existent. For the other three I'm using Bio-oil twice a day, vitamin E oil twice a day and shea butter after I shower. Mederma did nothing for my Achilles tendon scar. That scar is 7 years old now and the Bio-oil is working on it. I have one that is raised in the corner. I may try the gel on it.

    Calories

My doc says the same about the Protein drinks. He wants us at 3 weeks and beyond to focus on real sources of protein. Save the shakes for the end of the day if there is a protein deficit. I'm around 500 - 600 calories a day from four meals and two Snacks. Low sodium deli meat with a bit of hummus inside is my go to. I make them the night before.
  22. I wouldn't feel too bad about it. Just start over and be careful going forward. Our bellies are still fragile. Side note - this American girl would kill for some Nandos right about now!
  23. Not all strains cause the munchies. If you live in a legal state or one with a dispensary you can always ask the employees. They can guide you to a strain that doesn't cause munchies and is good for sleep.
