  1. All of the physician's I have seen through my pre-approval process have been nothing but supportive. I'm sorry you had this experience, but I would not let it deter you. If you haven't already, maybe you should go to a WLS seminar and attend the corresponding support group meeting(s) and talking/listening to people who have already had the surgery will help you to make up your mind.
  2. I'll second the Premier Protein chocolate pre-made shakes (Sams and Costco have them) and I also like Pure Protein chocolate powder with a little PB2 mixed in (got both from Amazon).
  3. BCBS will only say it is pending...Heard back from my surgical coordinator last night that it seems the BCBS person assigned to my case was out for a few days and they are backlogged. URGH
  4. Sleep Study Bloodwork EKG, Echo & Stress Test Pulmonary Function Test Endoscopy Ultrasound of calves
  5. Yes, and I have contacted her several times. She's not giving up much information. I definitely completed everything that is required by my plan, but I have no way to know what she submitted. I emailed her this morning basically asking her to contact them since it's been over a week. We'll see...
  6. I'm in Rockville, but my surgeon is in Frederick so I'm not sure if I will be having surgery up there or down here. I told them whichever they could get me into faster. Coincidentally, my surgeon used to be in Havre de Grace!
  7. Ugh! I'm wondering if that what happened with mine, but all I get from my Dr.'s office is we'll call you when we hear. I'm still praying for next week, but think that will be a miracle at this point What hospital are you planning on?
  8. Yes, I called a few times and got that it was pending, approved, and back to pending. Basically, they won't tell me why or when.
  9. Did anyone with Federal BCBS take more than a week to hear back whether or not they were approved? I was told that my package was submitted for pre-certification on 10/3 and still have not heard back on if I was approved or not. Meanwhile, I was told by my Dr.'s office to start the two week pre-op diet on 9/30 and today has been two weeks of three shakes a day and one lean/green meal. Meanwhile, the Dr.'s office also told me it usually only takes a day or so for them to hear back. I'm hungry, anxious, and frustrated! I have a two year old, a full time job, and a need to know when to fly my Mom up, but everything is still up in the air and its driving me crazy
  10. Thanks guys! Guess I need to quit since I'm hoping to be scheduled for sometime in the next few weeks. Have a 2 year old though and don't get much sleep so that's going to be harder than the pre-op diet I've been on!!!
  11. Can someone remind me why we have to stop caffeine before surgery?
  12. I'm halfway through my 2 week pre-op diet and felt really bad the first few days. Hopefully you will feel better as the day goes on and just remember that tomorrow is the next step toward a new you
  13. I'm on 3 shakes a day plus 1 lean & green meal for 2 weeks (or more since I don't have a date). My shakes have to be at least 25 grams of protein and less than 5 grams sugar/250 calories. I like Premier Protein chocolate from SAMs Club.
  14. Hi All! I have one test to go tomorrow and should have approval and surgery date by next week. Started pre-op diet yesterday = 3 shakes and one lean/green meal. Pretty miserable, but it will be worth it
  15. Hi Everyone! I have a stress test scheduled for tomorrow and that's the last of my tests so I should have approval and a surgery date by next week! I started my pre-op diet yesterday and am pretty miserable, but it'll be worth it in the end...Right?! Hoping to go in by the 3rd or 4th week of this month!
