  1. Hi everyone, I had my two week post op appt today. Everything went well. The surgeon was very satisfied with my progress. I am down 13 pounds since surgery and 22 pounds total. I can tell the difference in my clothes. I know I'm not getting all of my protein in and may be short on my fluids. The doctor suggested that I focus on fluids because I do not need to get dehydrated. My next goal is to start walking. I've never been one to exercise. I also want a jump rope. Today, I can officially start phase 3 of my diet. It consists of soft foods. I have to follow this for two weeks and then I can start experimenting with regular foods. My intake increases from 1/4 cup 3 times a day to 1/2 cup 3 times a day. I still have trouble with 1/4 cup. 3-4 bites and I feel like I have a lump in my throat. Hope everyone else is doing well. I'm trying to stay patient. Take Care! Angela
  2. I am noticing that my face has slimmed down and also in the neck area. My bra fits more comfortable and my jeans are nit tight at all. I guess a little bit from several places.
  3. I was sleeved on the 23rd. thanks! I felt a little better today. This evening, I felt a little down. I appreciate the uplifting words. I am always reading scripture inspirations, but somehow, I don't heed them. Lol
  4. you may be swallowing too much at once. One or two small swallows was enough for me, about every 15ish minutes. I am 8 days post op and still not getting all liquids or Proteins. Take it slow.

    Feeling discouraged

I am one week post op. I broke down and weighed tonight. Only three lbs down in a week. I do feel bloating in my stomach. Feeling emotional tonight.
  6. As I previously posted, today marks one week since my surgery. My stomach still feels bloated. I have not stepped on the scales, but am somewhat afraid to. I don't want to be disappointed. I know that I need to walk, but the heat has been a deterrent. Any thoughts or experiences?

    I'm SLEEVED!

@chip305: I can remember how anxious I was to get my insurance approval. I am one week post op. The time went faster than I thought it would.

    I'm SLEEVED!

@@TeacherMommy, congratulations! Glad you're doing well. (I am one week post op today). Take it easy and yes, walk.
  9. Well, I've never posted to a blog before, but this was a tough day for me. It have felt depressed, wondering if I done the right thing. I remember waking up after surgery last Tuesday thinking the same thing. I did great on my 2 week pre-op liquid diet. I actually lost 8 lbs. the most difficult thing is getting in the protein. Between sf Popsicles, jello, water, and broth, I'm good on liquids. Just trying to hang in there until Wednesday. I am able to progress to full liquids/puréed foods. I feel sure protein won't be an issue then. I am still having feelings of fullness. I need to walk more tomorrow. This should help. I must say, this surgery was much harder than I anticipated. Thought it might be like gallbladder removal. Not the case. Well, enough rambling. I enjoy reading everyone's experiences. Take care!
  10. mindylyn, good luck at your follow up!
  11. I had surgery last Tuesday, 9/23. Due to pain issues, I spent two nights in the hospital. Things seem to be going well. I am having difficulty getting my protein in. I decided to focus on hydration. I can start full liquids tomorrow. I should be able to get more protein with yogurt and shakes made with milk.
