  1. hey there soon. I am in chi-town! well south subs but if your anywhere near chicago u claim it right :-) Girl yes it is a struggle, im 4 years out and it is still a struggle. I can say that you will NEVER be able to eat the same amount of food you used to BUT you can overeat the bad stuff so watch out! My best piece of advise is to work out--something I struggle at still BUT it will melt the weight off faster than just letting the band do the work...i coasted off the band for about a year and the scale wasnt moving BUT the moment I hit the gym 5 days it was melting off! Good luck to you--i am here if you need anything!

  2. Aww yeah that would be great. I see we have alot of similarities :-) I have two boys too! 13 & 6. You can email me anytime joyhatchett@comcast.net Im on FB too. If you want we can do a check in on each other to keep our booties in check! How are you doing with exercise. In the last week alone I hve come up with at least 10 different excuses--I need new workout shoes, and pants, Im tired. So You Think You Can Dance is on I cant miss that, the boys want to go to the pool...blah blah blah I used up all my excuses this week so I have to bite the bullet and GO.

Lunch and other things that make me gurggle...

I know this might sound vague but it all depends for me...what time if day, what kind of salad....yadda yadda. If its later in the day and just lettuce (mixed greens) lil dressing I can do it. It all depends on how your band feels about it. The list of what I cant eat might be different, ive seen ppl say they can have bagels, tuna, steak...those are somemore no-go's for me. You just have to try and see.

Karma, I have a very low tolerance for pain--so I felt very sore like someone punched me in my side( where the port is) honestly that is the biggest thing for me to get used to. I took off a week at the time I worked in a Salon and I did pretty good doing facials and waxing, just got tired alot at first. I have two boys that were pretty good about not jumping on me...give yourself about a good month or so to feel 100%.

Oh boy today I wanted to eat my feelings away, long day at work, argument with my BF, and to top it off PMS. BUT I didnt do it I stayed strong:thumbup:. My evil co-worker bought me a huge payday candy bar---I swear he is trying to fatten me up for some bizzare reason. Anyway I didnt eat it I gave it away. Im so pleased with myself now im off to have some sting cheese and watch Glee as my lovely son makes cinibons in the oven the smell is making me nuts:sneaky:

  14. Boy o boy....that is puts my sad story in check Bklynike. IF I have to I will pay out of pocket for the fill if I need it. Thank you and best of luck on your journey
  15. When I had my LB I was covered 100% medicaid. Since then I have went for over a year w/o any insurance. I currently have new insurance with Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Iowa. I have a Pre-Existing Condition Exclusion Period which ends 10/26/2010 . It also states that "Surgical and non-surgical treatment of morbid obesity is not a covered benefit." Do I have a chance of being covered? Im a little freaked out that I may never be able to have my band check or get filled/unfilled. I spoke with Heidi at Siver Cross Joliet. She is going to check for me to see if the insurance will pay. When I checked they told me no. But like I say "never take a no from someone that cant give you a yes".

  17. Thanks Coco. I can't wait to see your side by side picks. Even with the struggles it is still the best thing I ever did. I for sure cannot eat the amount that I used to, it does keep you in check as far as portion control. My problem was eating junk that was easy to get down. I wish you all the best, please keep in touch and let me know how things are going.

    My October band-anniversary challenge

Band_Groupie, you are so right. I guess I got a little excited renewing my commitment to the band. I like the idea of taking it one month at a time, and not just targeting a certain number! Thank you again I really needed that!
  23. In October I will have been banded for 4 years, and I am going to celebrate by getting to my goal or close as hell to it!:wink2: Current BMI 34/ 180lbs ...eek:crying: Goal BMI 25 or 125 lbs That is 50-55 lbs to loose in 6mos. Im a slow loser. So if anyone has any tips I would love it!:smile2:
