Such a wonderful feeling, I know. It is a littel hard for me register that I can actually get into XL shirts. I am not totally comfortable wearing them yet, but I can actually put it on. It just cannot believe it. I am actually scared to try on smaller sizes. Its weird. but I love this journey. Happy losing!
Later Losers!

I noticed it for the first time getting ready for bed last night. I saw myself in the bathroom mirror and realized how much of my gut was gone. Not done, but it gave me goosebumps. This is great.

I do this all the time!! the best part is when you go to a store with a family member or friend and they lose you in the store because they aren't used to seeing you smaller!! ha ha

I walked by a bldg with glass windows all across the front and looked right at someone and for a split second thought ...she looks familiar....I looked away just as quickly, and then I came to a dead stop because I realized it was me! Then I laughed out loud for a minute!

cmick14 got a reaction from amazon in When You Realize You Really Are Changing...
The other day I was shopping in a department store and looking at Christmas present options when I glanced to my side and caught my profile in a mirror, I quickly looked away as that is what I have programmed to do for so long and kept walking down the isle. Then I stopped and actually processed what I saw, turned around and went back to the mirror. First, I couldn't believe that I actually went back to the mirror and second I absorbed the fact that I was changing physically and I was becoming a new person (inside and out). I know my clothing sizes had been changing and I was losing inches along with weight but I don't think I really saw myself changing until that day.
Anyone else have those moments where you go "Wow... Is that really me?"

cmick14 got a reaction from Lateese92 in Normal or not? 6 weeks post op
Hi Alana and Lateese - I also had similar weight loss and then stopped for about 2 1/2 wks. I was officially 6 wks out as of yesterday. I decided to start measuring inches per someone else's recommendation and even though the scale didn't move I lost 11". I just got back from a trip and the scale is finally moving again as of this Monday. I don't know if it was a change in routine or that I also had my "monthly" during my trip. Maybe your routine change of going back to work will kick start it for you both.

Best decision I ever made 107 pounds and several sizes later I'm officially on maintenance. It wasn't easy and I'm trying to figure out how to maintain. I can honestly say the lifestyle change and the confidence and than realization that I am worth it and deserve it has been the most gratifying outcome of the surgery. I started at 254 on 1/30/14 and I'm at 146 today. The support from my husband, kids, family and friends has been amazing. I chose only to tell close family and friends. This site has been a life saver. I am on it daily although I don't post often. Thank you all for sharing your stories they truly help and continue to help me daily.

@@mmeher1963 - I too have had minimal pain/discomfort, mine was only in the recovery room. Today is the only day I have felt exhausted and dizzy but I think I did it to myself by going to my sons banquet and staying too long.

cmick14 got a reaction from simplicity27 in I wasn't completely prepared....
Lauren - thank your for posting this! There are many days I fell like I'm the only one lacking energy. I am so thankful for the procedure and for a pretty painless recovery. I guess that gave me a false assumption that Icould still go at the speed pre surgery. Reality set in around da 6-7 when my body said, sorry I think you need a break, and my mind was saying get out there get moving. Hopefully moving to the pureed stage on Monday will give me more energy and I can get back to walking my dogs.

cmick14 reacted to JustWatchMe in I crossed my legs today
Only here will people understand. I was actually afraid to try it until today. I have not crossed my legs the "dainty" way in many years. I joined the century club this week, and decided it was time to try crossing my legs in a chair. I was afraid that my belly would still be in the way. It was irrational and fear based. Today I decided to go for it at work in my cube.
I crossed my right leg over my left and it worked. I crossed my left leg over my right and it worked. If I could type on my PC this way, I'd do it all day long.
Crossing my legs is my new favorite activity.
Happy NSVs to us all!

cmick14 got a reaction from BeagleLover in 9 days post and no energy at all.....Normal?
Lateese- I had the exact same issue but mine was at the 6th day. Day 10 today and I am starting to feel the energy come back. I started getting some Soups in rather than just Protein Drinks and Water and that seemed to help me. For me it was very frustrating going from don g great and walking tons to no energy and getting dizzy.
