    Question About Family Support

I haven't had surgery yet but... My dad is a HUGE worry wort, and he doesn't understand why I want the surgery... UMMMM, because I weigh 300 pounds and I'm unhappy??? My mom is supportive, but I know deep down inside she will be a wreck the day of my surgery, but being a strong woman she is, she won't show it in front of me. She will literally show it in front of EVERYONE ELSE, but me lol. I am getting A LOT of supportive feedback from people I've told about wanting the surgery. Everyone is excited for me. My eldest brother (I'm closest to him out of the 4) is super excited for me.
  2. I'm glad you finally got a new date! I was literally just telling my brother about you ten minutes ago lol. Good luck and DONT run away this time!!

    December 18th!

    Congratulations!
  4. Amazing, congratulations!!!
  5. I spoke with my PCP earlier today and she said she is hoping to submit all of my paperwork to my insurance on Thursday! She was busy getting other peoples' prepared. I don't think it would be unreasonable to call her late Friday afternoon and see if she went through with it, is it??

    Protein brand help

I love Premier Protein!! It took a week for my taste buds to get used to them, but there are times where I crave one. I have never seen them in a 4 pack. If you're looking to try something available in a 4-pack, try those Atkins shakes maybe?? There's a woman whose weight loss website I have been reading for a year, and when she goes on a sugar detox, she likes to drink those 1 every other hour from 8 am to 5 pm I believe, then she eats a low carb dinner.

    Last meal

My last meal will be an ALL DAY thing, I've decided!! One of my coworkers said her last meal was a chile verde burrito and a Dr. Pepper...kind of made me chuckle, since she's 15 months post op and she drinks soda everyday..

    Endoscopy

I had the upper endoscopy done and it was a breeze! The prep took longer than the procedure. I remember they had me lay on my left side, and I was already very relaxed and ready to sleep, when one of the guys had to put something around my mouth, then I remember burping, or at least that's what I felt like I did, four times, then it was done!! I was SOOO sleepy though! My mom was my driver, and once we got home, I went to sleep around 3:30 pm and woke up around 9pm.
  10. Just checking in.. I'm so happy for those of you who have been approved! Good luck with your surgery and your journey after! My PCC is still missing some blood work results, and THAT'S IT! I called the local hospital I got the lab work done at, and asked them to re-fax all of my results again. This is the ONLY thing that my surgeon needs; the results for everything else have been received, talk about frustrating! Grrr!!
  11. Alrighty so, I'm heading for a pap smear this Friday; it's my LAST required appointment, before my PCC sends everything to my insurance. Can anyone give me an idea of how long it will take the gyno's office to have results to send?? I don't want to go Friday, then on Tuesday I'm already bothering Brenda -my patient care coordinator, lol.

    Time of the month

We aren't allowed to take Midol or Pamprin after surgery?? I'm just wondering, because Midol is my savior..my first day of my period is horrible, with cramps, goosebumps, and lower back pain.
  13. I wouldn't call Anthem again, but maybe your surgeon's office?? And then call Anthem on Friday.

    GOOOOAAAAALLLLL!

    You are amazing, awesome job!
  15. You look great!! Awesome job
  16. Congratulations, Becca!! My boss asked me once again if I have a surgery date yet, and I told him ONCE AGAIN that I won't know anything until everything is submitted to the insurance company. Geez, men are so impatient!! lol. I am heading to the gynecologist this Friday, and then I'm done.

    The last meal every day!

I would say have one specific day where it is a free for all! One of the things the psychiatrist said at the Nutrition class I had to go to was that, it's best to start working on the new & healthier you BEFORE surgery, so then it won't be so difficult afterwards. He also was serious when he said that if we gain too much weight, the surgeon has every right to postpone surgery if he doesn't think we're ready for it.
  18. I have two appointments left (endoscopy & pap smear), and I'm done!! I was told my insurance has up to 5 business days to say yes or no. Good luck to everyone!!!

    Pschyological evaluation

My psychologist evaluation was about 40 minutes long. I first had this 50 questionnaire that I needed to do. Then, the psychologist called me in his office, and he asked me several things like, do I believe in God, do I gamble, have I ever been arrested, any drug addiction, any DUIs, how's my relationship with my family, who am I closest to, etc etc.
  20. Hi Jeff, I'm Crystal. I don't have a surgery date yet, since I'm still completing all of my required appointments. I just wanted to say good luck on your journey!!

    Who Are You?

Good morning ~ I'm Crystal, and I live in the valley in California. I've been going through the process for weight loss surgery. My weight is something I've dealt with all of my life; I'm hoping the sleeve will help me tremendously to lose 130 pounds.
