Surgery Scheduled 10/8/14 - Support Pals Wanted
My surgery is scheduled for 10/14 at 11:15. I am 60 and have 100 pounds that I am giving back to the universe. Last time I lost 70 I found them! So now off they go to those in 3rd world countries our parents warned us about. Good luck to all in our new adventure. I hope to have more contact with my fellow fall 2014 loser friends here. Cheers!

Scared!
I had my endo last week. They had me gargles with lidocaine. I had no sore throat at all. They injected the versed and it was lights out for the next hour, slept like I had had 8 great hours of sleep. Oh baby!

Gastric bypass for me
For James and others trying to kick caffeine soda .... I was on it for 30 years, like many. Had been trying for years to get off soda and then started down this road. I made it a two month process. First I cut my sodas to only 3 cans per day, then two cans for a couple weeks then I just added water to make them less tasty but still retain enough caffeine to not have a migraine. I just kept adding water until they were pretty light, then tried to go every other day then two days off and one dsy on. You know the drill. I actually got off two weeks earlier than planned. And have been off for 6 weeks now except one day when I had a severe migraine that the mess did not help with. Oh, one more thing, I drank tea (black ) and knew I could stop that. I did have a few days after I was completely off soda, but it was handled with tea and patience. Since I couldn't have my ibuprofen either. Good luck out there!

For those on liquid diets now.
Can you make your daughters after school snack when you do dinner the night before or breakfast in the morning? That way it is less of handling food and just serving it.

kicking sugar
How long before your surgery? I read a post somewhere that said if you had the urge for sweets try to have a sour item, like a pickle. That it would decrease your sweet craving. Don't know if it works or not, but pickles are pretty low cal and give you a crunch factor. Good luck.

You give me hope. I am at bmi 36 too and have 100 as my wish list loss. I know people who weigh more lose mire faster at least at first. So, I was thinking that my journey would be slower. But now, just maybe it will be similar to yours. Thanks fir sharing. My surgery date is in a couple weeks.. 10/13 I hope

Anyone else having a case of "The Lasts?"
Ok. I went there too. Was hungry and drove by the IHOP and jones'd for a multigrain pancake. With syrup. Have not had one in over 1 1/2 years. My scale will let me know tomorrow if it was worth it! LOL.

New here, waiting on a surgery date.
Thanks sherry1118 . These past days are letting in so many thoughts. I know several people who have had this surgery. Some kept it off and others stopped following the rules. So bottom line, follow the system for success. Still scary to think what if..., or for how long .. But I will try my best. And prayers that all if you can maintain the rules.

Anyone else having a case of "The Lasts?"
I am thinking of a few things that way too. But, I need to turn my thinking around to the fact that we are only on vacation from each other (most things ). And that eventually many things can come back in smaller portions or with some changed ingredients, but many things will show back up. And those things that we can/should not have had in the first place/-- well --- good riddance!

Time off work?
I need to have a bone spur removed from my ankle and that doc said no I could not have them together since you need to walk after the RNY and can't walk for a few weeks after the ankle surgery. Ask your doctors

My surgery is, hopefully, October 13. 10 13 14..... That way I can I will focus on the 101 pounds I want to remove. Whenever I lose them I find them. Removing them is so much better!! Haha.

Do they weigh you right before surgery
I think most places will weigh you after you check into the hospital. The anesthesiologist and the pharmacist needs to have accurate info for medications.

Nuclear Stress Test
I had a delayed reaction. All day long. Had to go back on the diet coke fir the day. I work in a cardiac ICU and came to work after. Will try not to have that done again. Yuck. LOL.
