Side note - I've never had any kind of surgery before or stayed in ahospital.. or had stitches ever...

  9. Nope, just 4 slimfast high protien shakes or 5 atkins shakes a day plus all the broth and jello I want. I hate Jello now
  10. I've been on the liquid diet for just under 2 weeks now I htink its been 10 days. And it is so hard. BUT gotta keep your eye on the prize. I cheated the first day and stole 3 fries off my friends plate at lunch but I think I will be forgiven that. After the first few days it got easier.
  11. I'd even take the TARDIS for 2 weeks after the surgery. I've never been under genral anesthesia, nor had stitches or ever had to stay in a hospital bed. I am in slight freak out mode and expect to be in full freak out mode in the next few days
  12. Last night I dreamed about Broccoli. I hate broccoli... But It looked like pure ambrosia in my dream. I've been on the liquid diet now for almost 2 weeks (The dietician had me satart it a week early to boost a little weight loss. ) I've got headaches, I'm tired, cranky, and feel like a space cadet most days. I cheated once.. last Thursday. I was at a steelers pre season game and ate about 10 french fries.. I've had to boycott facebook, for the simple fact that it seems like everyone is posting about food. Or at least I'm noticing how much people post about food. I've had to cut out how much regular tv I watch.. Besides being bombarded with food in commercials. Has anyon ever noticed on sitcom how much of the time people are eating? I'm not using this as an excuse for why I'm over weight, however as a society we're pretty bombarded with food and the idea of eating ( True story watch a marathon of Big Bang Theory, count off how many times in an episode they are eating) Anyone else waging this uphill battle? My Surgery date is September 16th. I'm looking for any advice to get through the next 12 days.

  17. ANyone else officially hit freak out mode? Cause I'm about to.
  18. I have had days like that. My dietician wants me to start the liquid diet an extra week in advance so I'm supposed to start the 25th of this month.... That part terrifies me. I mean 4 slimfast shakes a day?? I heard you're not hungry after surgery but the before time is a killer.

  20. Yup! I'm set for September 16th. Totally feel like a bird on a wire.
  21. HI All, So I have been down the WLS road 3 times since I was 21. The first time I chickened out because I was too scared of surgery ( I've never had a broken bone or needed stitches, even to this day) Then around 26 I decided to try again. Only to be denied by my insurance because my policy had a rider that excluded WLS. needless to say I was devastated especially since my father had passed away two weeks prior) Four years and 60 more pounds later I'm about to head to this again ( my surgery is Sept 16th). My pre op tests came back with elevated TSH 5.3 I believe it was. My surgeon is sending me to an endocrinologist. I'm just worried this will effect my insurance approval this time. I've had my thyroid tested at least 2 times before and it was always within normal range. Has anyone run into this problem Or have any advice? Sincerely, Thyroffied Siri
  22. I know what you mean! I'm scheduled for the 16th too and I'm climbing the walls. I've never had any kind of surgery before. I've never even needed stitches and am terrified of general anesthesia. But I just keeping saying to myself " Its worth it. You will be so much better off once you have taken this step" Protien powders, I've tried a few My fav so far is unjury, but I also tried the insurenutrish that insurance may or may not pay for. My dr approved it so I assume its good? I'm still looking into GMO free protien powders
