For those on liquid diets now.

How did your day go? I'm on day two and still have a headache but I'm not hungry so that's a plus. Never thought I would say this, thank God for jello.

  • Started my liquid diet today. 13 more days to go...I did have a few minutes where I could have totally cheated but remembered that cheating is what got me here. I am trying to stay focused and discipl

  • I feel great too. I am on day 3 and it is easier than I thought. I think though if there was not the promise of surgery I could not stick with this longer than 2 weeks!

  • So you guy are on all liquid no meal at all?

Yeah jello was a life saver for the first 4-5 days. Now I'm settled into it and it's a lot easier. Day 4 was the hardest with hunger- and I had some emotional stuff on top of that and I totally cheated. Not pizza cheating bad, just turkey sandwich cheating bad.

Now I'm in a good rhythm. Having premixed shakes is a lifesaver. As much as I prefer mixing my own in the blender- sometimes reality gets in the way.

Sugar free Popsicles are a god-send when the nighttime snacking impulse strikes. Now I just wish there were more flavors besides orange, cherry, and grape!!!!!

I'm actually pretty emotionally energized by this liquid diet- before I was really struggling with my confidence and doubting my ability to stay compliant on the post surgery diet.

This liquid diet has been really eye opening- it's a chance to prove you are stronger and more capable than you thought you were! And it's a chance to get a "taste" of who you are without food before surgery. :)

I agree with you, I'm feeling like I can do this and after so many failed diets it's a wonderful feeling.

Hi,

I am on day 5, I am doing okayish...the headaches have abated finally and I really only crave badly during the lunch period which I am thankful for as I am still having to cook 3 meals a day for my daughter who is home from school.

My surgery is book for the 16th of this month so only 11 more days yay!

Good luck everyone

Stick with it, you're doing great! Good luck with your surgery.

I'm on Day 3. I hate the sweet ready to drink Protein shakes and have been mostly drinking broth and eating popsicles.

I have cheated with a couple boiled eggs, a cheese stick and a medifast sloppy joe.

I've lost 3 lbs and have 2 more days til surgery.

Can you make your daughters after school snack when you do dinner the night before or breakfast in the morning? That way it is less of handling food and just serving it.

I am on all liquids. At least I'm supposed to be.

I am not. I have a shake for breakfast and lunch. Then a lean protein with green veggies for dinner. I can have 1/2 cup cottage cheese, applesauce or oatmeal twice a day too. And a shake for snack after dinner if needed.

I have the same feeling, not hungry but I want to eat something. I have found crushed ice or even ice I've blended helps. That crunch makes me feel like I'm eating something.
