  1. I am constantly hungry during PMS but during TOM I am not hungry and my band is tighter and I can't eat much. I tend to lose weight during TOM.
  2. I have the AP small 10 cc band. My doctor said he rarely uses the large AP band.
  3. I love Big Brother but I'm not sure about this season yet. I don't like the couple aspect of the show. Sheila is a bitch but Adam is a strange one too. They will probably be the couple to actually fall in love. Wouldn't that be funny!
  4. Talk to the doctor close to you and see if he will do your fills there so you will have someone close by. Hopefully he will understand that it was not your decision. My surgeon does not do the pre-op testing. He gave me a report to give to my PCP requesting the tests so maybe the new surgeon will do the same. It will be worth it. I love my band.
  5. I burp much less than before. I get a small hiccup/burp letting me know that I "should" be done eating and that is it. However, I have the same problem as Miper. It comes out the other end. I'm telling you that I could hurt people.
  6. I'm so sorry you are having to deal with that. When she makes comments just say that you are doing great and walk away unless you want to confront her and let her know how you really feel. The best revenge is to do well and she will she how wonderful the Lap Band is. I am lucky that I have a great boss. He is very understanding and supportive. When I scheduled surgery and needed time off I had tell him I was having surgery because we were swamped. I did it Thanksgiving week though so I would only be off 2 days when everyone else was at work. I told him I was having surgery and he really didn't want the details. I knew he would assume it was "female" problems and not ask. He just wanted me to assure him that I was fine. I ended up telling him a week before my surgery that was Lap Band. He was very excited for me. I hope things work out well.
  7. My doctor never addressed the issue. I was banded 2 days before Thanksgiving and of course Christmas was just a month later. The nurse told me it was not a problem to have a glass of wine or 2 as long as I did not over do it. She even asked me when I came in for my first fill the week after Christmas if I enjoyed myself and had a little alcohol and I told her I did and she said she was glad I enjoyed myself. I have a couple of glasses of wine on the weekends and it I haven't had a problem. The key is not to drink to much so you don't get sick. It hasn't affected my weight loss. I actually tend to eat less after I've had wine. food actually goes down a little better too. Keep in my mind it doesn't take much to get a buzz when you're eating so little. I always drink a big glass of Water between glasses too so I have time to evaluate how I feel and make sure I don't drink too much. It is a personal choice and I decided that since I enjoy it on the weekends I am not going to give it up. The only change is that I can't drink beer. Beer was always my drink of choice but now I have wine which I also enjoy. :crying:
  8. I have the same problem. I get a fill and have great restriction and then after 2 weeks it is gone. I thought my 3rd fill was going to last because she added 1 cc and I couldn't get Water down so she backed off to .5 cc and the water went down. I was pretty tight for a couple of days but now 2 weeks later and I can eat anything but I don't. I am eating a little more than I should but I need it to stay full. I can't wait to get a fill that will last. By the way, I have 4.5 cc's in a 10 cc band.
  9. I need another fill but will have to wait a week or so as TOM just hit and I'm totally stressed so I probably won't be eating much the next few days. I have to admit I like the extra restriction during TOM (sorry boys)! My 3rd fill provided good restriction but that restriction is not so good anymore. I hope the next fill will get me to my sweet spot. One more thing... Can one of you please jump through the computer and slap me and tell me to get my shrinking butt to the gym!

  12. I did not crate train my 1st dog and I wish I had. I now have a 9 month old Cockapoo and she is crate trained. When I am not home she is in her crate. She did not like it at first and would cry but now when I am getting ready to leave she gets in the crate on her own. She even goes in there when I am home. It is her safe place. Be sure to never use the crate to discipline your dog. It must be their space. Good luck!
  13. Don't worry about other people. You will be surprised how few people will comment. If someone asks just tell them you are on a strict diet after having your gallbladder removed. If they say they didn't have to do that just tell them this is what your doctor instructed and you are going to follow it. Heck, you can just say your not hungry and leave it at that. Don't worry about what other people think. It will drive you crazy.
  14. I've been banded for almost 3 months and I've never regretted it. :cursing:
  15. I would love to attend but work keeps me tied down for the 1st 15 days of the month. If it all possible please try to plan during the last 2 weeks of whatever month you decide on and I will pretty much guarantee that I will be there.
  16. My doctor told me that overeating and drinking carbonated drinks are the main causes of the pouch stretching. I'm not sure how many instances of either would cause it to happen. I've read that having the band unfilled and following a liquid diet can help this problem. Congrats on your band!
  17. Doctor's do recommend lap band for patients with BMI under 40 and no co-morbidities. Many on LBT fit in that category including myself. I don't consider it fashionable at all. I choose not to tell people that I had LBS. I chose to do it before it became a life and death situation. Good luck on your journey.
  18. I personally don't want to see other people's feet. Not everyone has pretty feet and some can be really stinky. I wouldn't have a problem if someone asked me to take my shoe's off though. I do have a problem with people piling shoes on their front porch as they walk in the door. I live in a townhouse and the people across from me have shelves on their patio where they keep all their shoes. It is not attractive and I don't like it. I don't know why they can't keep them just inside the house. It is actually a violation of our deed restrictions and I believe they are very close to being fined.
  19. I ended up self-pay because I was not fat enough. Whatever!!!! It was the best decision. No regrets at all. Good luck!
  20. I was banded 11/20 and I have not PB'd yet. I have had good restriction for 2 weeks now too. I hope I never do but I'm sure at some point it will happen.
  21. I had similar pains. Pain meds and the heating pad helped.
  22. I used to be very regular but not any more. I now go every 2 - 3 days. I am not constipated I just don't eat enough and definitely don't eat enough fiber. I take Benefiber when I remember. I am also trying to eat more veggies.
  23. There are certain foods that I miss but it has not been bad. There are times I wish I could finish a meal in 5 minutes. I ate a Lean Cuisine for lunch today and didn't finish it and it took me 30 minutes to eat it. Small bites and lots of chewing take a while. It took a couple of fills to get to this point but the band is doing it's job with my help. I love my band. Good luck on your journey.
  24. You will be so amazed that even adding just a small fill can completely change your restriction level. After my first fill I could still eat just about anything if I chewed well. My 2nd fill helped a little. My 3rd fill was WOW! The nurse told me when I got my 2nd fill that she will only add .5 cc at a time from now on and I thought I would never get there. I had a more experienced nurse for the 3rd fill and she added 1 cc and I could not even drink Water. She back it off to .5 and the water went down. I could only drink liquids for the 1st day and soft food the next and I could feel and hear everything go through the band. You are very new and should not give up. You just have not hit the best restriction level for you. Remember to eat Protein first then veggies, drink water between meals and exercise. It does take a lot of effort on our part but you can do it. Don't you think you are worth the effort?
