I had my sleeve surgery on OCT 01 and so far I am down 82 pounds. Started at 285 and I am now 203 and I am still losing! I have gone from size 42 waist to size 36, from 2XL to LG shirts. I no long take cholesterol meds, triglyceride meds, and I've just came off my blood pressure meds. I am only taking vitamins. I am a happy camper!!! I'm getting lots of compliments and I feel so much better physically & mentally. Physical chores and even exercise are so much easier. VSG was a great decision for me. I have so many plans for my life and now I think I will actually live long enough to enjoy those plans. Best wishes to all...

I restarted coffee a few weeks after being sleeved. I have 1 or 2 cups a day without problems. I am now 8 weeks post-op.

@@newbiesleever Just try to carry something to drink with you and sip it as much as you can. I finished the antibiotics and I am still taking all the meds except the pain killer. I didn't need it and didn't feel like it was doing anything anyway. For me, it seems like liquids go through my stomach really fast, so I can drink a fair amount, just not huge gulps. My surgery was exactly a week ago. I returned to work today without any problems. I am a little more tired in the evening, but surely not pulling in many calories yet.

Hi everyone! Well, I made it back home yesterday. I had my gastric sleeve last WED OCT 01. Everything went just fine. I don't think I could have had any better care and attention than I received at OCC. Relaxing at the Marriott TJ for a couple of days was just awesome. The surgery itself was not nearly as painful as I as expected. My abdomen was a little sore the first day only to lessen each day after. Four of us had our drain tubes pulled on the same day. The other three said it didn't bother them at all, but for me it did hurt a bit - but was over very quickly. Looking forward to some serious weight loss!

Doing OK on the pre-op diet. Not much fun, but diets never are. I received the Vitaleph products today, so I will be trying that tomorrow. I actually like the pre-made Premier brand shakes and BSN "Lean Dessert" is really good. Mix with water and almond milk. I think my weight-loss is on track. I have had a couple of salads with grilled chicken, but now that I'm approaching my 2 week mark I will tighten my intake to the exact diet as prescribed. Not sure if it will be easier or harder but we are leaving on vacation this coming WED and will be traveling until our arrival on SEP 30 in TJ.

Kindle, how was your energy levels returning so quick?

OCT 01 for me. Doing the pre-op diet, now to toughen up on the 2 week pre-op. We will be on vacation until surgery day, so a lot more vitamins, supplements, and protein shake to carry with us.

Couple of questions for those who have already had surgery: 1) How long until you returned to work? I have an office job that is not too tough physically and I was wondering if I will be able? 2) If you have someone with you, are they required to return to the hotel the night of surgery or will they be permitted to stay if they wish? Thanks!

Hi Brenda! I will be arriving at the Marriott on SEP 30 for surgery on OCT 01. Did you ask which surgeon you will have? I haven't been notified.

Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum. I'm scheduled for gastric sleeve at Obesity Control Center (OCC) on OCT 01. Like most, I'm full of emotions, little anxious, excited, but determined. Anyone else going at the same time?
