I'm so freaking angry and irritable! My surgery is Wednesday 1/7 and this is day 8 of my preop diet! ???? I'm not losing the way I want and I'm so irritable that I can't stand myself! My kids run when they see me coming and my husband just walks out of any room I come into. Ugh!!! I wish I had better control of my emotions but I don't. Gosh I hope when this surgery is over I hope I'm nicer--- these of course are my caregivers ????

@@sleevydreams I'm so glad I have someone else going the same day as me. Are you on Facebook? We definitely need to support each other through this process and keep in touch since we are on opposites sides of the US.

I was already given a surgery date of January 7 prior to my insurance approval. I had my final nutritionist appointment on Tuesday, the surgeons office submitted everything to CIGNA on Wednesday and I received a call from my surgeons office informing me that the surgery was approved on Friday. I'm getting super excited and I'm feeling extremely confident that I will be successful. The pre-op diet on the other hand is less than desired but I'm supposed to begin that on December 23rd. There is no specific weight loss requirement just the need to reduce my fatty liver. I haven't bought anything in preparation out of fear that I may be denied so now that I've been approved it's time for me to settle on multi vitamins, calcium, B12 and protein shakes to get me through the first two weeks after surgery-I think I'm going to go with Premier protein from Costco.

My doctor submitted to Cigna on Wednesday and my doctors office called me Friday saying I was approved.

@@resipsa89 that is amazing - congratulations!!!! Did you have to lose any weight prior to your approval?

Try not to beat yourself up. It's not too late to turn this around. Your accountability starts with acceptance and asking for help. You will not be able to do this on your own thats why I suggested a support group. Since you can't cheer yourself on right now you need people who have walked your walk to do it for you. Don't allow yourself to fall into self pity ....YOU GOT THIS!

@@amp2014 how long did the approval process with Cigna take?

I applaud your honesty and transparency. Maybe you can find a support group near you for additional support. Why do you think you haven't been as successful as you would have liked?

Hey there! I too just started. I live in MD and have Cigna (3 month process too). I am 5'8" - 280 lbs with a BMI of 42. I'm plowing away at my required appointments and tests and had my required Physical Therapy appointment today. Part of me is very confident that I will get approved and then there is a part of me too that feels like I'm not "heavy" enough (I am blessed not to have any other health issues). Waiting game!

I have Cigna too and I'm pretty early in the process still having test and all completed. Please keep me posted on your approvals. My plan calls for a three month or 90 day requirement. I'm pretty nervousness at the end of the day they will say no.

I've been on this site about two weeks and I'm still in the beginning stages of the process. I'm going to the psychologist tomorrow and my intention was to log on tonight to find out what not to say tomorrow when God led me almost immediately to this post. My my my this is a perfect reflection of how I feel and Miss Mac you just saved me from myself. Thank you for your words. Seriously it's so easy to lose focus on why we'd put ourselves through this.
