Weights
I already lift weights, and my Doctor told me that I'll need to take about 2 weeks off of heavy lifting, but can start back to light lifting 3-4 and back to normal at 4 weeks. I'm hoping so, becuase I don't want to lose my progress.

My surgery is in 2 days and was hoping to connect with someone early on.
Hello! I've started my pre-op diet, and my surgery is in January.
-
What are you telling people at home and at work?
I get it, cause I'm pretty open, and I feel weird about lying. I just told my boss that I am having surgery in January and left it at that. She didn't ask. I told her I plan on working at home for 2 weeks. I'm sure she can figure it out though, becuase we are office mates, and she is nice and seems supportive. However, I am starting a new job in November, and I'm not as close to my new boss, plus he is a male, so I'm not comfortable telling him why. I just told him after I accepted the position that I would be having a surgery in January and will need to be off a couple days, but can work at home for about 2 weeks after. If I need an extra week I should be ok. I've started my pre-op diet and I'm losing already, so it shouldn't be a big surprise.

Anyone looking at a January date for surgery?
Who is your insurance? Do you have any comorbities, i.e. high blood pressure, sleep apnea, aching joints, etc? Because ours said if you are 35 + comorbities, they will pay.

So Humiliated...
This is true.. but at the same time.. we want cheaper flights! We want to pay $200 round trip.. so I'll take being a little cramped for 3-6ish hours, over having to pay $1,000 for a flight. I have to agree. I'm really, really sorry you were humiliated, I would have been too, and I'm not saying the person wasn't rude, but how is it easy to approach the subject? Maybe she was trying to save you later embarrassment of someone pitching a fit and saying they are cramped. Its not fun, but hoepfully in the future you will fit with plenty of room! That's what I hope!

plastic surgeon. Just going to say it!
Hugs!! The thing is.. most plastic surgeons are dicks! YES, I'm serious. I have friends who have went through med school and talked about how ridiculous the plastic surgeons usually are.. and sometimes the best Doctors have the WORST bedside manner..

GOOOOAAAAALLLLL!

Good weight loss before weight loss surgery - should I still get weight loss surgery
I say give it a try.. if it ever starts to go south, you can see your surgeon again.

Excess skin - warning photos
It doesn't deter me either.. I think you look GREAT! If you lose another 40 pounds, and get to your goal weight, it will probably shrink even more. I can't even imagine you losing another 40 pounds, cause you seem tiny!

plastic surgeon. Just going to say it!
Was this guy recommended by your bariatric surgeon?? Our office has a plastic surgeon on staff! I would find one that is connected to a bariatric center.

HOW MUCH HAVE YOU ALL LOST IN THE FIRST MONTH
Well, the good thing is.. keep losing this much a month and you will be down 100 pounds in 4 months! 25-30 pounds is amazing, and think how much you would have lost without? 2 pounds a week, if you were lucky!

Where are my maryland sleevers?
wow, you've done well! I live in Southern Maryland (St. Mary's Country) and I am going to Dr. Tran at Howard University Hospital. Just started the process and go to my first nutritionist appt on Oct 17th. I have to do twice monthly for 3 months. Not sure if it really *starts* on Oct 17th, or since my consultation..

Rosie O’Donnell Makes Hurtful Comments About the Lap-Band on “The View”
I will say that my surgeon did say a lot of the same things, that it is ineffective, many people end up getting RNY or the sleeve after the band, and that surgeons are going away from doing the band anymore.

supplements/crossfit
Hi ladies! I am pre-op and currently go to my CF box at least 4-6 times a week, plus I bike, swim, etc.. I am looking at the surgery in January.. I just hope I dont lose a bunch of strengthe couple weeks I'm off.. My surgeon said I should be able to go back in 2-3 weeks, and be fully recovered in 4. I'm hopeful.. I LOVE crossfit. I also lost 50 pounds a couple years ago due to CF, paleo, whole 30, and lots of cardio, but I got pregnant (surprise, thought we were infertile) and then gained it back plus some, and I just can't get back under 300.
