  1. I'm still pre-op but I went through depression the last few months since about January.. I feel the fog lifting and i'm hoping I don't get depressed after surgery!
  2. The weekend is hard for me too. I've been cleaning.. a lot.
  3. Should be soon! Good luck! Not too much longer!!
  4. They look really nice! My sister went through this as she lost about 75% of her hair due to stress.. She used these and they were really nice, until she lost too much that you could see them. She ended up shaving her head and wearing wig until it started growing back!
  5. Wow, there are quite a lot of us who are having surgery on March 18th!
  6. Well, I had to complete all the pre-op before they sent in my documentation for approval..
  7. @@Lester Burnham Good point.. I was told to expect 8-10 pounds a month with the sleeve.
  8. A couple years ago, before I got pregnant, I did a whole 30 plan. I tell you it was so freeing.. I didn't crave anything!
  9. Men! Man.. lucky.. Well, good luck.
  10. I was told no more sodas also.. but not that it would stretch anything.. I don't really drink sodas though.
  11. @@chaggard I'm anxious too. Mine is next week. I just want it over with.
  12. Good thread. I have the same fears.. that it won't work.. that I wont be able to stop emotionally eating, that I will only lose a few pounds and gain it all back.
  13. I think the attraction of the band was that it could be "reversed" if needed.. RNY and Sleeve are non reversals.. But the % of people reverting to the sleeve or RNY from the band is what speaks volumes.
  14. Truly. My biggest issue was support of my husband. He just kept saying you can do it, you don't need to do that, its so drastic. I finally said, you don't have to like it, but I need your support. I've been thinking about surgery for 10 years! Finally after 2 babies, its "my" time to get with it. I'm already fit. I love working out.. I just can't get the eating right.
  15. I would steer clear of that.. that's a lot of carbs.. fish: flounder, salmon, cod, shrimp, scallops, fresh or frozen tuna (skip the canned). try different Protein shakes. I like EAS whey and Cellucor brand Protein Shakes with low carbs and high protein.
  16. Good Luck! Let us know how you are once you are able.
  17. I can have a small bit of protein and I'm allowed Greek yogurt, soup, sugar free pudding and jello. I've been having that. I'm down 8 pounds since last week.
  18. How'd you do? Did you have your surgery? Kind of sounds like sabotage that my nut talked about! I'm on for surgery March 18th! I started liquids Tuesday, was supposed to start Wednesday, but wanted to do a sample day just to see how i did. I'm mostly doing ok. Its harder at home.. feeding my kids.. cooking for them.. Hard! I'm excited. I have some nerves. I want to write letters to my kids (just in case) I know the surgery will go well, but.. i just want them to know how much i love them. I have an 8 year old and a 1.5 year old. Did anyone else do this? Did you tell your kids about the surgery? My 8 year old came with me to two nut appts, so he knows mom is "trying to lose the belly".
  19. I would definitely choose the sleeve over the lap band.. my Doctor's will not even do them anymore.
  20. I've been noticing this as well! They told me I would drink water from a little medicine cup. Maybe you could use one and try to do that. I drink a lot of water.. never any sodas! Sometimes coffee and hot tea.. so I get lots of water in..
  21. I haven't had surgery yet.. but my sheet says the clear stuff is 24 hours, and then for 2 weeks, you have clear broth, high Protein drinks and health wise protein Soups. I also have a list of high protein sources: Optisource Isopure pure protein atkins advantage, unjury powder designer whey.. but so many of them say different things!
  22. That should say dissolvable protein. I believe Unjury makes it.
